.... Take no notice of these testosterone filled dinosaurs.... After being called a "Cave Man" by SWMBO when last out shopping, I guess I could live with " testosterone filled dinosaur". The only oil on this unshaved face occurred when last changing the oil in my car ... and, might I say, 20w50 didn't seem to do it that much good.

All that oil is probably giving him problems gripping his mouse or fingering his screen.

I've been very busy tbh Yes well it's expensive premade and expensive to buy the ingredients. The latter will last a very long time though once made. Unfortunately I do have sensitive skin and a little moisturising does help me from getting mild eczema. The properties within these oils has been used for millennia and proven to be useful for skin and hair. Maybe it ain't the most manly act but I will embark to care for myself nonetheless

Yes well it's expensive premade and expensive to buy the ingredients. Being a little serious now, JTC - I followed the formulae link offered by a helpful person ( sydsut) on the first page. It was as I wondered - the BASE oil is by far the main ingredient in any such beard brew, where that linked site suggests often the base forms up to 98 or 99 percent of the total mix. Seems to me - buy a couple of small samples of various base oils, try those first and see how they go...... once you've found one that suits you, then add the extra "dress up" items to that one base you prefer.

Jonny hope you dont mind me hijacking your thread...but whilst we are on the subject of beards etc...i want to ask for some advice I have never been able to have a razor shave as it always gives me (what i have named) fire rash! I have tried every trick in the book to avoid it but nothing has worked. Ive tried all the fancy razor blades, pre and post shave creams, hot flannels cold flannels, go against the grain, go with the grain. But nothing. I had a shave yesterday for the first time in months and i now have a face that feels and looks like its on fire Anyone else suffer with this?
