perhaps not the usual burnt taste question. I have an SXK kayfun v5 and everything tastes singed, almost as if it has a hot coil leg.
I've tried spaced and contact coils, SS, nichrome, kanthal and several different wicking materials.
I've run it through the ultrasonic several times, used new tips, replaced all of the seals, insulators, even put a new positive post on it. And still it tastes like something is burnt.
Any ideas? Cheers

Its along shot but I had a similar tho not singed more oily taste from a new tank. Stripped & boiled the damn thing in dish soap on the hob several times still couldnt get rid of the oily taste. Finally figured out it was the screws in the deck that were holding on to the last dregs of oil. I always nipped em up and left them in the deck when Id washed it.

Not so much of a long shot if it works, but it has been stripped down a few times, I'll give it an overnight soak in isopropanol.

I've tried lifting & lowering the coil. not too keen on the Juice Control.....

And yes the juice control is random to say the least, 2 turns, 2.5 turns, 3 turns. Bubbles, no bubbles, bubbles only when I turn the tank. I have four V5s, two SXKs (fasttech) and two Coppervape ( Gearbest $9), all of them perform differently, airflow, juice flow.

No problems at all with the authentic. Just goes to show that clones don't perform as well no matter what people say

Entirely agree that you get what you pay for, but I wouldn't want to spend £90 on an atomiser let alone have three or four in rotation.

stevef I think I might have found a solution to the burnt taste...... Yesterday,I put new O-rings on the Kayfun 5, after an ultrasonic cleaning session.. Wicked with Rayon, took a vape, the burnt taste was stronger than ever.. Then, I read on Reddit.. " the wick tails, do not need to cover all, of the bottom.. just barely long enough to soak the juice up.. So.. the tails, dont need to touch the bottom of the juice well, the wick tails, need to be thin and wide... in other words, my problem was overwicking.... I rewicked , and it vapes ok now, no more burnt taste...

hmm, over-wicked dry hits? I originally had the same problem with the merlin and aromamiser so I wick, juice and re-size, thing is I do this with nearly all of my atomisers; V5s included. I washed the troublesome atty out and put it back in the box, I'm sure in some desparate moment I'll drag it out.... for spares.
