Tough one for me this. I do have one and when I first got it I used it all the time but I have got lazy now and only use it if a new tank turns up otherwise I just rinse and rebuild. They are dam good at what they do though.

I've been hanging my nose over a Sonic Cleaner for some time, nearly asked for one for Xmas. After reading this thread I think I'm going to pass on it and stick with water etc and my Mag Stir.

For attys and bottles I just use warm water and a teensy bit of washing up liquid, then drain them dry, for steeping I just shake like mad and then leave - all worked so far.

a big YES in favour for the ultrasonic - I use mine regularly - vor vaping and non vaping things - you can get them quite cheap on Amazon - or in any of the big super markets

I understand where you're coming from beedee , but can you keep shaking for a couple of hours? Yes Clivia I can see a large use for non-vaping things, but the vaping use eludes me! Jim

Jim I use it to clean my tanks - it makes them really clean and sparkling - specially the bottom where you screw in the coils - I don't use any liquid , just hot water

On the other hand, cold water, kitchen towel and cotton wool buds will give a similar result. I just hate spending money! Jim

I've been following this thread in the hope to see some clear result as to do I need one or not. Doesn't seem to come to this.
I still think I could use one but haven't got the slightest what is good and what isn't.
Anyone any suggestions?

From what people say they are excellent at what they do, but I get the feeling that you could compare them to a breville toastie machine .......
you get one and use it constantly for a little while ....... then it ends up in the cupboard cause it's taking up space on the worktop and you've not used it for a couple of days ............... then you realise it's a hassle getting it out just to make 1 toastie clean 1 tank out
That's speaking as someone who doesn't have a sonic cleaner but does have a toastie machine that makes an appearance once in a blue moon

Well I for one will deffo be buying a sonic cleaner soon. Fairy liquid ( my 1st try b4 posting this) failed Bicarb failed steradent failed deep freeze failed. Perhaps it was because of the super fruit concs i used for wifes juice i dunno. All i do know is ive ordered some new bottles today(recycled the old ones ). Whilst its SO cheap to buy new bottles the thought of having a 50-75% success rate of getting old bottles odourless and ready to go, maybe becausebottles are so cheap. So in conclusion I think its best to have a Sonic Cleaner that gets used infrequently like charliehorse says above(about toastie maker). As its better to be able to use something you may need occasionally rather than wishing/wondering what if i had 1. Just like a toastie machine So ill be off to buy one soon probably This one
Once again thanks to all who helped out on this
