Would be interested on peoples opinions on whether this is essential piece of kit or just old fashioned elbow grease is all you need. I've had one or two bottles with faint aroma after good soak/clean

Not essential but recommended. Like a Kuro coiler, you can do without but it's less hassle if you have one.

A good soak in old fashioned Bicarbonate of Soda does me . . . . unlike denture tablets, it has all the cleaning properties that they do - minus the mintiness! Most supermarkets stock it on their Bakery sections: www.tesco.com/groceries/product/details/?id=282996938Haven't used my Ultrasonic in ages . . . . . .

I always used the unflavored denture tablets. Bought a sonic cleaner because I thought I needed one but to be honest I don't find it any better

I've got one, xmas present 2015 and do use it every so often for tanks and coils after a vodka soak, it does get in all the nooks and crannies but then so does a soak in washing up liquid and hot water so it isn't used as much as it should I suppose.

I've had one or two bottles with faint aroma after good soak/clean For me essential. Soon as I've mixed a bottle it goes in the sonic cleaner and I start on the next.Noticed no matter how much I shake it looks more of a uniform colour after a warm bath in the sonic cleaner. Also before I re wick or re coil a tank it gets a sonic clean. Gets to the parts other methods cannot reach imho
