Hi Guys, I've just posted our thoughts on national no smoking day, and how we think e-cigarettes weave into the dynamic. Would be great to hear your feedback on what's been written. 1) The Office of national Statistics reported that by 2014 smoking prevalence was now down to 19% helped primarily by the fact that 2.30 million users were now vaping. That report stated that 41% of ecig users (943,000) were now non smokers. 2) This week the Office Of National Statistics has reported its findings for 2015. Adult smoking prevalence has reduced down to 17.20% – a near 10% drop from the previous year. The rising popularity of ecigs has seen a dramatic drop in adult smoking rates within the UK over the past 3 years. This success has been in spite of and not because of any Public Health media campaigns such as this week’s National No Smoking Day. There is still a significant reluctance for both Public Health and Tobacco Control to legitimately recognise that the success in reducing smoking rates over the past few years as being solely due to the emergence and popularity of vaping. NRT products haven’t changed. Public Health policy was initially set against ecigs, yet smoking rates have nevertheless declined as more and more smokers turn to vaping – a 95% safer option for smokers. - See more at: www.misteliquid.co.uk/blog/national-no-smoking-day-vaping/

I wonder how long it will be before they start a National No Vaping Day?

Over 3 years for me since I switched from Smoking to Vaping! I don't think I'd have quit without finding Vaping as an alternative

A National Vape Day would probably do more for reducing smoking than the Non Smoking Day. When I smoked it made no difference to me, and certainly wasn't the reason I now don't smoke. I just puffed away like it was another day. So a National Vape Dy would probably highlight a viable alternative to those that still light up.

I would hazard a guess that most people who are still smoking are doing so because that is what they prefer. Vaping is so well known now that those who were looking for a safer alternative to smoking, have already found it and are now vaping. So those that are still smoking are doing so by their own choice and who are we to influence them in any way.
Lifestyle should be about "freedom of choice".
In oh so many ways, the very idea of a No Smoking Day is an abomination.

One of the best inventions of our lifetime imo should be embraced and celebrated all across the world. Oh I forgot, us minions have to be dumbed down repeatedly so it probably wouldn't be allowed

As a smoker I ignored No Smoking Day. I was then smoking because I wanted to, and was fully aware of the reported risks. There is no compulsion on No Smoking Day so I don't care if the zealots have a token day. If it makes the little darlings feels better, then I'm happy. I could puff away to my hearts extent and they had a warm feeling in the delusion that they thought they were doing something good by stopping me smoking. The world was in balance.

If I can fit in 365.25 Vaping Days (on average) each year then I am happy.
