Hello everyone
It's been a long time since I've been on here but after a visit to Lairey's shop this afternoon, I've entered a new stage of vaping/mixology.
Now since I've depleted all the stock of my super strudel, things have been a bit desperate. I decided to try and find a new flavour so popped into Vanilla vapes this afternoon. I came across a strange looking bottle (strange as in it had no nic strength printed on the bottle), it was black & blue concentrate, after trying a little taster I left with a mixing starter kit and a bottle of mutiny to keep me going (although I realised I don't really like it now).
So now I have 100ml of black and blue steeping away in the cupboard and I'm itching to try concocting my own flavours, it seems my interest in this hobby has been reignited

Yes bring the mixing on! Be warned, as it can become obsessive. I love mixing and finding great recipes is awesome.Just be prepared for quite a few failures to your taste buds and make small tests.Ive made big mistakes thinking a recipe would be sure fire brilliant and making large amounts. The sewer rats must be loving all the free juice

damianWas it just a long time away from the Forum, or did you slip back into smoking? If the latter, you've done very well returning. Jim

Thanks for the warm welcome back, no I didn't return to smoking, in the three years since starting to vape I've had one relapse. I lost my mod at a Christmas party whilst away from home, I knew I had spares at home but I had to get from Birmingham to the S East. I bought a pack of 10 and couldn't finish them.... they were gross! I got stuck with the one flavour that I vaped exclusively for nearly two years, then his website was down for maintenance and I couldn't re-order so I ended up stumbling across some strudel in a B&M. Trouble was they were coming to an end of line, so I bought pretty much what they had (silver lining was I managed to drop nicotine by half as they didn't have anymore of my strength) and ran out last week. I found some Jam on toast stuff which I thought smelled a good replacement but in reality I couldn't vape it and this Mutiny stuff I bought yesterday is just about bearable although I'm counting down the days until I'm able to vape this Black & Blue steeping away in the cupboard. I did think as I brewed away, maybe I'm not doing the right thing mixing 100ml as my first attempt and will bear in mind what jtc says about mixing a small tester first. Any recommendations for particular brands of concentrate and recipes will be gratefully appreciated of course. Thanks for all your help

Thanks for all your help Have a look at Chefs Flavours and The EcigShop both are used a lot by members here for concentrates. The main traditional flavour houses include Capella, Flavour Art and The Perfumers Apprentice/The Flavour Apprentice, Inawera ... , although some e-liquid companies are also now selling their liquids as 'one shot' concentrates.

My first flavour was a 'one shot' T Juice Black and Blue, I figured that provided I got the ratios right I couldn't go wrong. The T-juice website recommend 15% which I followed (thinking the flavour should match the pre-mixed) however the smell from this stuff is very intense

( I go 20% with that, but your taste buds might be considerably better than mine! )

Tried it and it is awesome! I'm so pleased with myself even though it's practically impossible to mess it up...... good job too because I made the newbie mistake of brewing 100ml on one go Just mixed a 10ml of what I hope to be Polo mints, it smells good.... just going to let it steep for a bit before I try it. It's actually for a friend who has to travel to Bognor to get her supply as 'that's the only place that sells it'. She's also vaping 2.4mg which despite being high, is being phased/has been phased out so she's pretty concerned.

If you haven't already got some stored in your freezer, please consider doing so.
