Hi and welcome crag, I started at 18mg over 2 years ago and now on 3mg. It is best to start high and then work your way down.

Thank you for the replies and the warm welcome. From what I've picked up a pack of 5 coils and 3 bottles of liquids for the T18e should get me to the end of the month, so need to get a box sorted soon, and keep the T18e for a backup. I think I also need to find out why they say not to charge in a car, other than for the heat in a car on a sunny day, so I can work around those issues. Oh well, off shopping I go

Thank you all
Day-3. I'm a bit more confident vaping can replace smoking in my life. And I can't believe I've ordered some fruit juices to try out.
I'm yet to experience being in a situation of having to change a coil. If a coil lasts a week then i've just ordered 4 months worth.
I've also come across some boxes with removeable batteries similar to AA batteries, and chargers too, but I need to find out if I can charge from a cigarette lighter socket whilst travelling.

from me as well crag. Batteries are perfectly safe if looked after properly and treated with respect, one of the golden rules with batteries is that you do not charge them unattended. It might be worth your while looking at devices with built in batteries that can be charged via usb connection. Good well respected vendors you will find on the vendors board, along with discount codes. All the best on your journey!

crag - to help you along, here is some information which might explain things. The 'box' you refer to is commonly called a 'Mod'. There are two types of box mod, those that use 18650 batteries (18mm diameter, 65mm long, and the '0' means it is round!), either singly, in pairs, or in sets of three, and those that have built-in LIPO batteries and are charged via a USB socket; if you come across 'passthrough', it means that the device can be used for vaping whilst on charge via USB. If using removable 18650s, it is usual to buy, use and charge together a 'married' set of batteries so that they discharge at a similar rate - as prr mentioned above, respect the safety of your batteries and they will do you well. If you want something that you can charge in your car, then a pass-through USB charged device with a LIPO battery would be ideal. I'm not well up on these mods, but I'm sure someone will be able to help you out here. I do however have a Tesla Three and it's a great little mod, comes with a sub-ohm tank too, and the charge tops up from empty in about 3 hours. last a decent amount of time too; not an all-dayer, but certainly a 'night out with a few sneaky vapes at the restaurant door' sort of thing. Coil life is dictated by the power you vape at, the ingredients of your juice, and the amount you vape. If you get a couple of weeks from a single coil, that's pretty good! Keep on asking, and if you need recommendations for anything (which I would suggest you do anyway before parting with hard earned cash), then ask away my friend!

Thanks for this info. It's the car charging that is bothering me the most. Besides spending quite a bit of my free time in the outdoors, I also have a motorhome, so charging off a cigarette lighter socket is important to me
The instructions that came with the T18e that I have states not to charge in a car, but I have seen 5v 1amp USB plugs that will plug into the cigarette and attach to the T18e's USB lead. I understand not to leave it on charge unattended, that isn't a problem.
I'm doing a bit better now that I'm taking a bit more time, as advised earlier in this thread, but won't describe myself as confident yet.
