Hi Guys and Gals I'm a complete novice to vaping, having been a smoker for most of my life, and have bought a Endura T18e to get me going, with a 5 pack of coils and a couple of bottles of Vaperlites 18mg/m tobacco flavoured liquids. I say to get me by as I will purchase a mod kit when I can sort out what's suitable for my needs. I'm now on Day 2. Day 1 I was scared of the thing, drawing before I'd hit the button, and hearing a crackles was unexpected, although seemed blatantly logical afterwards when thinking of heating liquids. I probably had 3 or 4 draws on it before putting switching it off, and then felt like I hadn;t had the the dosage I needed. Day 2 improved. I started to hit the button more often before I draw, and continued for a longer period before switching off, and feel some improvement, but don't think I've cracked it yet I think a lot of my smoking is habitual, and am trying not to use vaping any more frequently. I'd smoke a couple of cigarettes going to work, at lunch time, on the way home, and a couple in the evening, but think I could do with a liquid with a bit more taste. I think I'd be quite happy to try another flavour, and wonder if there's a flavour that is common amongst other vapers, and widely available. AT the moment after vapin g I feel I've had half a nicotine kick, but the taste in the mouth seems to be missing. Whilst looking at the mods, there's bits that worry me at the moment about vaping that I'd need to take into consideration, ie running out of battery, coils or liquids. As if I'm away for a weekend, or forget to have spare coils, batteries, fluids, I would need to be able to obtain some from somewhere, so I can chill, and not end up feeling like I'm going to self harm or harm somebody else I know when a packet of fags are going to run out, and where I can get them from if I need more, or what alternative to buy if they don't stock what was my prefered brand. Vaping seems a bit of a mine field in comparison. I want a Apire Zelos with Nautlius 2, but only because I had to read the forum whilst Admin to approve my account, instead of just being able to get on here and ask the questions. What I think I need is a box with a battery that I can replace with a spare when required. A charger, and car charger, as I will not always have a mains supply. A box that uses coils that are readily available, not just online, as I havent a clue what the likes of the major supermarkets, fuel statiions etc stock. I may be after something that's not out there, and for someone to say "Try Lambert and Butler" In time I hope I can start decrease nicotine levels, but if I can aim at getting off cigarettes first, that will be excellent, so hoping you all can point me in the right direction

to AAEC crag i'm sure a few members will be along at some point to help you find what your after mate. The Aspire Zelos with Nautilus 2 kit is quite a new set up out so i can't really comment on how good it is but the Endure T 18 is a good little starter kit and should work well for a while until you find your feet so's to speak. As for flavours thats a very hard one as we are so different in our choices / tastes.

Welcome cragYou are right, Vaping is not as simple as smoking when it comes to supplies, but you build your stock and plan ahead and eventually you have enough to last weeks, then months ... (and then possibly years)... I've got to say (sorry to be negative)... but most of what you can buy from supermarkets is expensive & low quality. Truth be told, you don't want to be relying on these brands as your way forward. Some bargain stores sell basic supplies (old tech clearomizers, liquids) but nothing in the league of Innokin T18. If you like vaping and want to be safely stocked up, you just have to stock up. Take the Nautilus tank for example, you're not going to be able to service this easily. A local vape shop might stock the coils... but, well, some vape shops don't understand the meaning of the word good value on these types of accessories. They just want to sell you individual coils at 3 times the 'real' price.

Flavour is kind of a personal thing really. Have a look around on HERE they have a good range of flavours and only £1 for a 10ml bottle, good inexpensive way to try out a few different types of flavours like fruits, deserts etc.

Hi crag and welcome to the forum! Well done, you, for switching to vaping. I'm a newbie too and the guys and gals on here have been so helpful and encouraging I'm sure some of the more experienced vapers will be along to help and answer any technical/supplies questions you have. One thing I would say is to make sure you drink plenty of water. Vaping is very dehydrating. Coffee and tea don't do the job because they're diuretics, so water's the thing. I've been vaping since end January and the last couple of weeks or so have noticed my joints stiffening up, these old hips a-creaking away quite painfully. So I hit Doctor Google and there it was - dehydration can cause creaky, painful joints! I've been vaping a lot (love it now I've got used to it) but only drinking tea. So now as well as giving up my main addiction, cigs, I'm cutting down on my other addiction, tea, and replacing with water. On the up side, my lungs and breathing are already noticeably improved. The only other thing I would add is that the technique of vaping is different to that of smoking a cigarette. In order to get a satisfying mouth to lung (MTL) inhalation with throat hit and flavour you need to (remembering to press the button!!) drag long, slow and gentle into your mouth, release button and inhale from mouth to lung, hold it a bit then exhale. Whereas with a cig the inhalation drag tends to be quicker and stronger. You need the slow and gentle to give the liquid chance to get properly vapourised by the atomiser. Doing it this way I find vaping even more satisfying than smoking. Hope this helps, and good luck on your new adventure PS. Watch out for shinyitis. You'll probably catch it. Most of us do...

A warm welcome to you crag. You may find that you do vape more frequently than you smoked as our bodies process the nicotine differently to that obtained from tobacco, so don't worry about it if you do. The main thing is that you're not smoking and it's more important to feel nicotine satisfied than dwell on how much you use your ecig. Good luck, it sounds like you're off to an excellent start.

crag - hi and a warm welcome from me too! You have made the decision to stop smoking, and that's the top priority. As Perpetua says, use your e-cig when you feel you need it, and don't panic if that's more than you would have smoked. The nicotine is absorbed by your body differently than that in tobacco smoke so you may need to vape MORE than you think to get the same hit. As far as stocking up is concerned, get yourself a spare tank, a load of spare coils, and have a good look around our Vendors page to stock up with a few different juices to try. Some you will love, some you will loathe; our taste buds are all different and will prefer different flavours and tastes. Drinking loads of water will make a big difference, as Tykess mentions above. Please don't hesitate to ask questions if you need information - we have a saying here that "the only stupid question is the one that you don't ask"! Best of luck, and welcome to the madhouse!!

Welcome to the forum! Having a spare or backup is a very good idea - I didn't start vaping until I'd made sure I had a backup, and a backup for my backup too! Just relax and try to get used to it - don't beat yourself up about how often you use it, and keep hydrated. It will soon become second nature to you. Then you can start thinking about how to personalise it to suit your tastes - I realised pretty much straight away that I didn't miss tobacco flavour and jumped in and tried fruity, minty and bubblegum flavours, which now nearly 3 years later, are still my gotos. Others are happy with tobacco flavour and stick with it throughout. Each to their own, and we all find our own preferences. Enjoy!

cragLike others have already said the most important thing is getting used to not reaching for the "stinkies". Don't worry about dropping the nic levels until you feel comfortable to do so. You will find your own sweet spot for nic levels and flavours eventually. Loads of help from everyone on here if and when you need it. Good luck starting on your new life without the fags.
