It sounds like you have gone along the same lines as me when I started vaping Take a months cigarette money and spend it on good quality vaping equipment When I started to vape, mods were only hitting 8w to 12w The amount of choice on the market now, is bewildering, even to experienced vapers yeah, i got my very first ecig in, I think 2012. I was working up in Manchester and this ecig shop opened that everyone was raving about. I bought this tiny little battery and a plain clearomiser. I thought it was the absolute dogs bum bum, and I did quit smoking for a while.....until I went out for the day, took my ecig with me, and broke it..... At this time there were no petrol stations or supermarkets selling them. So I bought a packet of cigarettes. I still have the battery from my first ecig, it's so ikkle! I wouldn't know what the wattage was, but can't imagine it being more than 8w as you say I look at, as my years of 'flirting with vaping' but now I'm ready for the relationship and commitment! lol

The protank was kangers crowning glory, it all went down hill for them from there. Must admit though I did love my protank at the time making teeny little coils for it. A whole cotton ball would make a thousand wicks for it, these days I shove a whole cotton ball in my RDAs in 1 go lol. haha. a few weeks ago I text my friend and said, 'you've been vaping for years, what do you have' and he said a protank 2 and he loved it - he doesn't know anything about sub-ohming etc - it's purely functional for him. That's why I thought it was a brand. Just having a google, it looks like my kangertech evod mega but that leaks all over the place (I did get it a couple of years ago though, but I didn't get on with it then) and I find it has this weird medical type of taste, i think from the stainless steel tip - but that could well just be me. I tried to revive it last month with some new coils and a good clean but I don't know what I'm doing wrong with it, it's just not right. Shame because it's good flavour.

Looking at some of your kit and the comments
4) Innokin Cool Fire IV TC100 - the mod itself - 9/10 - super easy to use, really self explanatory, cute colour, nice feel
9) (bought 2015) Kangertech Subox Nano - 8/10 - great feel, just right in my hand - like that you can get a 0.5 and 1.5 coil. Prefer this as a complete set to the Cool Fire IV TC100 kit but as two seperate mods, I prefer the cool fire
Kanger are like ford cars, mass produced and do what they are designed to do
If you prefer the cool fire in your hand and like the kanger tank, have you tried using the two together

Ok I officially have the worlds most girliest vape - a rose gold mod (cool fire) with a purple tank (kangertech) but it totally worked! Ace idea and it's giving me way more clouds! Why is that? I haven't changed the wattage setting. Do mods really differ in the quality of the vape too? I didn't realise that. I thought you just got mods based on how high you wanted to go wattage wise.

For reasons you'd need an expert in electronics to explain, different mod / atty combinations can make or break a vape. I've always assumed it's down to how long and how accurate the mod is and how the tank reacts to the power supplied... it's a bit of a dark art and when I come across a juice that's not quite right, I try it in a different atty and different mods before I junk it.

Hello and welcome to the forum - I missed you joining us as I was on my holidays - you've got an awful lot of different stuff there to try no wonder its confusing you, my tip would be to pick a couple of tanks and mods and stick to those for a while then when you know what type of draw you prefer you can experiment. I disagree with phtumshk about Kanger tanks - I've been a Kanger girl through and through, protanks and now subtanks with a couple of iSubs for variety. I dislike metal drip tips but thats easily fixed as you can replace them with pretty glass, ceramic, plastic, marble, acrylic drip tips in every shape and combination of colour you can imagine. Drip tips too can completely alter the draw you get from a tank so its worth having a play around to find the style you like.

I had a senior moment & forgot all about subtanks Dunno how, I have 1 on the go I use most days and a couple more in the draw. So to reiterate, subtanks were Kangers crowning glory & it was all down hill for them from there.

Hi, where do you get drip tips from?! I wouldn't mind taking a look at that :-)
When you talk about protanks and subtanks and things, they are tanks in the kangertech family, rather than types of tanks in general? Is that right?
P.s sorry I can't quote. I'm at home for the bank holiday and doing this on my phone.

There is a couple of different ways certain mods outputs its power. But in your case it could possibly be the battery in your kanger is duff or of inferior quality. Or maybe its just because its made by kangertech. I shouldnt larf, Ive been eyeing up the kanger togo mod today, the coils look a shit load easier to rebuild than the egoaio ones.

The trick with buying anything made by kanger is to buy silver They make pretty coloured mods and tanks, but the paint don't last well under normal use Original protanks, were silver My dripbox, weeks worth of use and no paint chips. Its silver
