Darkstar nicotine PG72072 (batch)

Evening all,

I bought a litre bottle of PG Nicotine from Darkstar a few weeks back - batch number PG72072

I haven't opened it. It has been kept in a dark cupboard

It had a little pink tinge after a week or so and now has a dark pink-goldish colour too it.

Doesn't sound too bright to me.....?

Is this something to be worried about? Has anyone else has problems with this batch or others?

personally I wouldnt be bothered with colour but if it smells off Id probably be fumin.
Heard lots of bad news about DS elsewhere recently so was a bit worried about mine but was OK on arrival.

I've 500 ml of the same batch number, opened it on arrival it was clear and smelt fine so it's in the freezer now.

Seeming it wont go in the freezer nice to see youve found a cool dark place for it glen.

Thanks for the replies, guys.

Now have a bit of a quandary.....do I open it and smell it.....?

Wonder what they would do about replacements now, if it came to that?

Considering that a few(?) have had issues.... I'd smell it. Colour isn't everything though.
Re. if it's dodgy and needs replaced, (assuming that they have stock), I can't see an issue... as it was purchased prior to the sales deadline.

[ETA] - If smelling, do so at room temperature

I order a batch 4 x 500ml from darkstar batch number PG72067 have store in fridge and one half full in my cupboard all 3 bottles have the same slight pink colour to them slightly darker with the half stored one in my cupboard.... all 3 bottles smell the same bit like a damp ashtray but not as strong. not sure how nicotine should smell.

all the nicotine ive bought from all different kinds of suppliers has the same kind of odour youve described.

Even if you don't refrigerate or freeze it, the best way to avoid degradation is to decant your base into amber glass bottles ghostrider1971 . . . . for the little they cost, then it's a worthwhile investment if it helps set your mind at rest.

This isn't a terribly good picture, but here is the 72mg VG nic base I sent off to someone recently - purchased from Spectrum, it has a slight pink tinge to it and a vague but ' fresh ' nicotine smell.

So good base . . . . .
