I get the impression that the skill in making tight (micro) coils has disappeared.
You need to "torch" the coil to give a coating of oxide...the oxide is non-conductive.

I guarantee there's a lot more people on here hitting way over that. Plus I intend getting down to 50w soon. Hopefully GB post is flying over quickly and not on that famous boat

Yes as I've been lead to believe in the past. You don't even have to get any hot spots out if you just kept pulsing the oxide would form and automatically the spots would disappear if I remember correctly. I'm sure I seen somebody doing it before. I'm sure this is the kind of thing I used to do with my ss mesh
