I haven't really bought any mods for over 12 months so it feels good, and a bonus that I raised the money by selling kit I already had

Back to the touching vs spaced coils question ...

I only use kanthal contact coils.

Not that I have a particular scientific reason for doing so beyond that my very first successful coil was a kanthal contact coil. It worked so I saw no reason to change. I have gone to somewhat thicker wire since then but, beyond that, I continue to do what works. And I still continue to wind 'em on my homemade cheap arsed coil jig linky

That said, I'm a lowish wattage vaper. There may well be some good valid reason to do differently if you are pushing more power thro those coils.

Fair play to it worked so I stayed there. Personally I like to try all ways to see the differences but tbh I don't find that much either way with this. It's good to hear people's experiences and opinions though I reckon
