Stumbled across this the other day: Only five years ago, but it seems like it's from neolithic times. The stuff we used to get up to... (BTW I'm not criticising the reviewer 'cos I like his videos, but he has certainly gone on to greater things, reviewing the latest and greatest of leading edge kit. Good for him). Now the T3S was a great clearo and certainly I enjoyed using mine in thier time. I still would if they were readily available. And even then there were 'before times'. Carto tanks, cartos and (eek) 510 attys with cartridges that came with my first Riva starter kit. My God, how did I ever make the switch from stinkies? Looking at how things have moved on, I'm wondering where things will be five years from now. *for those old enough to remember the thread title was also the title of a schools program, a pseudo-soap depicting how normal people lived in late Victorian and subsequent times. By happenstance I lived in the area where it was filmed (in Leeds) as a student. Apart from the fashions and inside loos, it was very much as seen on TV. Eeee, it were grim up north.

Before I even clicked on the thread title I had a feeling it was a reference to the old tv programme. As for being grim up north it could have been worse, imagine being born a sout**n*r Jay

My children and grandchildren won't believe that I was born in the dark because nobody in the street had a ha'penny for the gas lights.

I believe you my Grandmother never touched an electrical device in her life not even a light switch. They got electric power a year before she died but she was too afraid to use it so she sat in the dark till my Granddad got back from the pub. poor woman. This is well off topic.

Please can I go back to the 60s... I could go back a lot further, but no-one wants to hear about 'outside lavs' and yesterday's Daily Sketch for toilet paper... do they?

I saw Star Wars when it came out. I can also remember Space Dust candy... and the first MacDonald's. Everything since is just not game changing. Although e-cigs kind of mess up that idea!

Coal fires, first man on the moon and air quality so bad that smoking was good for you.

Outside Loo's, not great in the winter. Worse - outside "thunder boxes" (or even worse still - "long drops") - and it wasn't the cold that made 'em bad. * Extra bonus points if ya scored a Redback under the toilet seat

* Ah - Drive-ins. Now there's something ya don't see around anymore. I can believe that is true enough, not that we had any in the rainy counties of the UK (which is all counties)...

Outside Loo's, not great in the winter. Wet newspaper squares for toilet paper and getting jumped at bedtime by the neighbours kids, lovely!
