I may be a little less than bright here but..... I just purchased a SXK Billet Box along with an SXK Insider and a box of 48 varying " crocheted" Kanthal coils. My question is:- Why do all the coils seem to be wound the wrong way ie. the higher leg ligns up with the lower corresponding post hole in the attie and the lower leg of the coil lines up with the higher post hole in the attie. Now, I know I can make them line up with a bit of bending and jiggery pokery but have the coils been wound in the wrong direction, has the attie been designed with the posts the wrong way round or non of the above and I have just proved myself to be similar to a couple of undersized but broad pieces of wood? Your comments/insults would be most welcome. Cheers Neil

Yes you right not thick. Solution buy an OBS Nano single coil which is the same but the other way round; The left connector is higher. Bit extreme just to use some coils though. Otherwise you stuck with fiddling.

The deck is set up for an anti-clockwise wound coil. The coil pictured is wound clockwise.

Alas there isnt really any set standards/rules in vaping gear. You get what you get.

Don't fret too much, this is just sod's law and tells you the universe is still working normally.

Could you turn the deck 180 degrees ? Might be wrong just how my brains working right now That's what I thought at first.... but, on closer inspection of the picture, there is only an airflow hole on this side of the posts, for a single coil.

Yep, no movement due to the single airflow. My box of coils are from China via a vendor here in the UK. You would think there there would be a standard for both coils and atties

Learn to wind your own coils, it's not difficult with a CoilMaster coil jig. Then you can wind them whichever way round you need to to suit your atomiser.
How big are those coils? Looks like it going to be a tight fit in your Insider.

Looks like it going to be a tight fit in your Insider. I do wind my own coils and have been for several years. The pack of coils that I purchased consisted of 48 coils (6 x 8 different styles) that were weaved and plaited in various formats from Clapton and Alien Clapton through to Juggernaut and Duck Billed Pantechnicon Platypus with Internal Staircase, non of which are capable of being produced on a Coilmaster Jig, using my limited capabilities. Not all the 8 types of coil will fit the SXK insider, but several will. Cheers Neil

Well I'm guessing rh or lh helix doesn't realy matter for most rebuildables. Only those attys with asymmetry in their decks or post systems would need it to be one way or the other. So I guess you will have to poke and prod them into compliance. ETA Notwithstanding what the B+M bloke said, are the coils supposed to be specifically for your indider? P.S. Careful with the words 'wrong' and 'right' way round. It depends if you are left or right handed

It depends if you are left or right handed The coils are multi purpose generic Chinese made, and were not sold to me by the UK supplier specifically for the Insider. I am left handed......Bugger, if only I was ambidextrous. I have had no problems jiggling them to fit, but it would have been nice had they have just slotted in to the post holes. Edit: The photos are something of a camera illusion, the coils not actually the size of the cables on a suspension bridge.
