Hi All,
What exactly is the difference between Smok TFV8 Baby 3ml and 2ml Tanks? They look the same to me, I assume they take the same coils (or am I wrong here), so what has been done to reduce the capacity to 2ml due to the TPD rules.
I bought a couple of Smok Alien 220w kits from this forum and the boxes state 3ml tanks. However I want eventually to get an RBA deck, but it seems these are different between the 3ml and 2ml TFV8s. So I'm being cautious before committing.
There is also an extension for the 2ml tanks to make them 3.5 ml. Is there an equivalent extension for the 3ml tanks; to what capacity?
It's all very confusing and this is without even look at the Big Babies.

Smok do tend to have a convoluted approach in an attempt to circumvent TRPR. The actual baby beast 2ml version has a shorter central tube and I believe it is also slightly thinner in diameter compared to the big baby 3.5ml. The Big Baby 3.5ml allows you to purchase 'EU Cores' which effectively make the tank 2ml from 3.5ml, however it returns back to 3.5ml if you use a regular baby beast coil and the supplied 'chimney' extension in the box. I hope that made sense?

The big baby beast tank is the same size for standard and EU. The EU get the chunky coils to make the 2ml capacity. The standard baby beast coils fit and are smaller and increase the capacity to 5ml. The smaller baby beast tank in both the 2ml & 3ml use the same original baby beast coils so I assume that as said, the 2ml version must be smaller, or shorter internally. Going back to the Big baby beast, the standard 5ml only takes the baby beast coils as it has a longer chimney. The EU TPD Big baby beast has a shorter chimney to accommodate the chunky baby beast coil. The tank comes with a metal extension chimney which screws into the top cap, then onto the smaller original baby beast coils to give you the 5ml. Hope that makes a little sense matey

It's quite confusing isn't it and takes some processing, rereading of the information. In my noggin anyways!

It has made things overly complicated with reducing the EU size tanks to 2ml on larger tanks. Smok should do what others have done and keep the same tank and coil for all and just chuck in a removable bung in to comply with TPD. So simple

Could someone please provide a link to guaranteed genuine smok replacement coils for the 3ml baby beast. There are loads on ebay/amazon - but I've been stung before with fake coils from there. Many thanks.

Many thanks. If you don't mind waiting a few weeks, FT are good for the coils. Just make sure it says Authentic at the start of the description and that it says baby and you will be fine, just depends on which coil heads you like. linkAs for the UK, any regular vendor on these boards will sell genuine coils. Bit more expensive but faster delivery
