Having a horrible time with my fave type of tanks ( isubs) which I usually use for sub ohm vaping with no problems however my partner is using the very same tanks for mtl with the usual higher pg juice for mtl and finding they are leaking horrifically, have I answered my own question? My partner is using the isub apex and s.

You have indeed. Higher pg ratio means thinner liquid which wicks much faster so I expect the coil will be over saturated and leaking back down through the airflow. In an RTA you can just wick it much thicker but in a stock coil tank there’s little to be done

Possibly a silly question on my part rezello , but presumably your partner is also using the higher ohm coils with the isubs for MTL? www.amazon.co.uk/Innokin-iSub-Standard-Verification-Sticker/dp/B01569YPGY/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1511243346&sr=8-1&keywords=isub+2+ohm+coilOut of interest, what wattage are they running at as it might not be high enough if so . . . . . . ( In theory, it should be possible to use these tanks for either form of vaping, providing coils/wattage are appropriate and possibly airflow tweaked/drip tip changed to a narrower bore - although in practice, some tanks are just better suited to one style or t'other and there's always that element of personal preference/tastes. ) ETA: Just remembered gill2009 loves her iSubs and doesn't subohm so she may well be able to advise you further.

My partner is using the isub apex and s. It isn't necessary to use higher PG ratios to MTL. I don't. I use pretty high VG ratios (over 75 %) and I MTL at lowish wattages (16 to 18 ). If it is only the thin juice causing the leaks, then, maybe, just try a thicker juice with all other settings the same.

Thanks for the tag Mandy. rezello ...I don't sub-ohm & I only do MTL... my advice is... Use the 1.00 ohm coils Don't fill the tank too full As Perpetua mentioned...I vape narrow bore drip tips When changing the coil, make sure you dry all the nooks & crannies before replacing I vape 50/50 juice & my perfect spot is about 16/17 watts...but of course that is a very personal thing. I noticed that @bargain Coils stock 1ohm coils I hope this is of help...just ask if you need more advice

If it is crèmeux, then it is definitely 70pg.

Sub tanks normally leak in MTL mode as when you reduce the airflow the restriction and increase in pressure tends to pull more juice in through the wick holes than can be vaporised at low watts. Bit of a bodge but I have in the past (not with the i subs so cant say if it will work) stretch a driptip O ring over the coil head and place it over the wick holes reducing the area of visible cotton.

Interestingly 2ohms at about 10watts so this could be the problem then, will seek out some 1ohm coils as gill2009 suggested and give that a try

gill2009 I have switched to 1ohm coils as suggested, no leakage so far however it's a bit snap crackle and pop not sure what I'm doing wrong any ideas? There's also a delay with firing which is really odd is this the coil or is it just coincidence that the mod is failing ? Cheers

Still leakage so have given up and purchased another aspire K1 which is what I use for my mtl setup and it has shot to fame in our house, although filling up is abit niggly due to having to unscrew the bottom etc and a small tank so more refilling needed but as assumed, (partner didn't twig and thought she was going through more juice until I pointed out it's a smaller tank !) no leakage, happy days

... have given up and purchased another aspire K1 ... it has shot to fame in our house ... no leakage, happy days You know the old saying - "happy wife, happy life"? Seriously, that's hardly a surprise. Many of us had to change gear around, experimenting, until we found what suited our own vaping styles. That is part of the learning curve many of us go thro. Glad you got it sorted for you and yours.
