TBH i am not sure on the idea of using "puppy pads" as in my mind all you are doing is teaching him to use them not to go outside. I personally would be doing as others have said .. outside....outside....outside as for the shivering he will get used to it mate. They survive out in the real world quite well honest. Also WTF is a puppy pad does nobody use newspaper nowadays. Yep today he is going outside mate. It was just initially to get him chilled out. Because every time we took him outside he literally just shook himself silly and cowered between our ankles. But like mandy said make outside fun and he should be ok. And tbh the pads are good because it soaks it all up so well!

You could always move the puppy pads outside and hope he gets the hint.

Our 2 Bichons were both trained on "puppy pads".
Once they were used to using these, they were moved to outside the back door, then onto the back lawn and eventually the pads were not needed.
Bichons are notoriously hard to "house-train" and therefore patience and persistence is the name of the game.
The main thing is to get a couple of books that are specific to your pet breed and to read them well. I say a couple of books by different authors because everybody has their own ideas about what is best and by steering a course between their opinions and what you think is best, you will end up with an A1 member of your family.

Seeing that Frank is a French Bulldog should his name not be Franc? Franc rhymes with squonk, I like it. Great lookin little dog thebishman and a fitting name. Good luck with your pet owning journey.

Well that was his 3rd night with us. But 1st night in kitchen with baby gate across door. Left crate open and left plenty of toys in kitchen.
He woke up only 3 times last night! Which is better than 10 lol. He pooped on the puppy pad at back door. Result!
That went alot better than expected. He was absolutely distraught when he firat woke up. Never heard noises like that coming from a dog before! But he settled fairly quickly with a few strokes.
Ive got my eldests xmas play today so frank will be on his own for the first time..about an hour or so.

Remember that Christmas day to avoid giving the little chap turkey since you wont like the results But being as he has European origins, Brussel sprouts will be fine And don't feed him any chocolate

Two lap rats and Belgium Shepherd are fine when I vape near them
