Ni80 Clapton Wire

Spotted this on Fastech - its a 26/32 awg wrap.

It was cheap and I'm liking Claptons at the moment so thought I'd give it a go - hoping it would enable me to build coils with more wraps without increasing ramp up time.

Got it the other day and have put it in a new Exocet for the SXK Billet Box - 5 wraps at 2.5mm, comes out about .45ohm - found it to be a really excellent vape, great flavour, lots of rich vapour and instant ramp up.

Thought I'd try a dual coil in the Squape X Dream Clone, went for 7 wraps at 2mm but it was a bit of a struggle to get it in as its a small deck, succeeded but could not get both coils to fire up evenly   - lost patience with it so I ended up trying it with just one (comes out at about .55ohm). 

Best build I've had in it, even though the deck is designed for dual coils. 

Was wondering if anyone else has experience with this wire and what kind of builds they find good with it?

No experience, but I'm fancying a Vaping experiment or 2 in the New Year. I've got a couple of DNA Mods that offer Temp control, so I might try a couple of NiChrome and Stainless Steel builds to see if I can notice much difference between varying materials.

I believe the Ni80 does not do temp control keepitgoin, it's Ni200 for that (I think this is because the Ni200 has more nickel in it).

Must admit, the one time I tried Ni200 in temp control I was not impressed - I do like stainless steel, though, and you can use it in both temp control and wattage modes without worrying about very low ohms.

Ni80 has a higher resistance that SS, but lower than Kanthal, and it does seem to heat up quicker than Kanthal.

Cheers beedee, I know very little about different wire types! I'm still on the same roll of kanthal I got when I first started building my own coils, probably 3 years ago now!!

SS works great in TC on a DNA these days.
I run 3 dual ss clapton setups daily without a murmur 👍😊

I'm using Geekvape roll atm but just bought some of this as it's the same gauge.
2 x 5 wrap coils on a 3mm ID is coming out at 0.11 ohms.
70w and 470f on a pulse24 is my perfik vape 👍😊

I admire your restraint, keepitgoin, I can’t resist buying things just to find out what they are like! Three years vaping and I have 30 wires or more!
