Just completed one, of two, kitchen stool refurbishments Missus saw them in a charity shop and thought, I know Glen would like to get these looking good again, won't take him long, Well, three days later, after taking one totally apart, removing a lifetime of varnish, re-glueing, strengthening the joints with dowels, polishing and giving a coat of wax, recovering the seat cushion, she's not sure if she likes the colour of the wood !!!! Thank goodness I had the two mods to keep me company while I contemplated murder lol, one more comment about the colour and they'll end up as firewood!  |

Too orange I've been told, lol It's beech, it's got an orange tinge to it, because it's beech, that's what colour beech is, that's how the conversation has been going rofl |

at least she didnt notice 2 of the legs appear to be shorter than the other 2.
the legs nearest the camera definitely dont reach the ground.

Just a sec - who selected and purchased 'em? *grin* Did not see what you started with, but only three days to completely rebuid, restore and refinish one? That's damned good if you ask me - and that final result sure looks mighty fine to me. (*) * even if the front legs don't reach the ground!  |

They look lovely! I've got one of those stools upstairs in the attic, mums friend gave me it and it was hers as a child so there's years of history in them, but mine is much darker (and stained with years of grime) It obviously started life as beech
I've got beech furniture in my dining room and I must agree that there are many shades of the same wood. The leaves on my extending table are a completely different colour to the top, its surprising what years of light can do
