Given that most e-cig users are former smokers, and that smoking rates around the world are dropping. Eventually there will be very few if any smokers. E-Cigs have and do help millions around the world change from tobacco smoking to nicotine inhalation by other means. So to me the more popular e-cigs become the faster will be the demise of smoking. The faster smoking reduces so the fewer people there are to pick up vaping. The less vapers the less profit to be made in the sector and continuing with the logic, E-Cigs eventually kill E-Cigs.

There are still new innovations coming out, and people who will want to vape for pleasure so will require upgrades

You've made your own point invalid....... the more that switch to vaping ....... the more vapers there are.
Massive client base.
What you have to look at is how many ex-smokers that have switched to vaping.............. then go on to be free of both and quit.
Not many I bet.
I've said before, I don't believe there's such a thing as an ex-smoker........ we're all just holding it at bay with vaping.
Same as alcoholics...... it's always there.

I'm not suggesting ecigs will decline any time soon. Maybe 10-15 years depending on the rate of decline in smoking? Those vaping now will decline as some give up and some die etc. Vaping may not completely disappear, and right now is on the ascendency, but in time it must decline. The numbers of non smokers taking up vaping are small, so the pool of potential vapers will decline eventually

More likely it will be the decline in the numbers who start smoking in their youth that will cause less potential use of e-cigs. Obviously some never smokers will take up vaping but I cannot see it ever being anything like the number who smoked in previous generations. (Counting myself as a previous generation there )
