Hi guys, wondering whos had experience with making gvc clone. Ive made some up and wondered if anybody has a recommended steeping time? I know for instance if i left it months it will be great but a guidline on minimum wpuld be great. Thanks

The simple answer is try it over the days, weeks when you like it it's ready

The simple answer is try it over the days, weeks when you like it it's ready Yes agreed.. Ive tried after the first week and all im getting so far is just the dulce de leche and not much custard.. Will be trying weekly

Dulce de Leche needs loads of steeping time for it to mellow out louikn . . . . Grant used to sell GVC pre-steeped, which was around 6 weeks IIRC. Personally I don't think custard recipes come into their own until they've had 3-4months to be at their best.

Time is your best friend if you use it.
