... I do try not to get into a tizz over stuff that isn't really important ... ... But ... but ... but... it's THE CAR! ++ We obviously have different opinions about what is important ! Hopefully insurance will be willing to talk to you about it. *fingers crossed* . . . . I don't do THE CAR thing Dave, it still works! Yeah, I'll give the insurance peeps a ring after work.

Haha very observant of me!! . . . . just for you solac77 , in angelic mode. Phoned the Insurance Company, apparently I have £150 Compulsory Excess and £250 Voluntary . . . . . who knew such a thing, certainly not me! Apparently this stuff keeps my yearly premium teeny weeny, which it is - so it's swings and roundabouts really. I'll just pay the bill unless it turns out to be epic, because it's not worth claiming for a £100 and my renewal will also go up next year. Into everyone's life a little rain or poop falls from time to time . . . . . Meanwhile, some wag from elsewhere sent me this!

She is a gorgeous girly . . . . . such a sweet, gentle nature and quite a timid soul, despite having been abandoned on the streets in Wales and left to fend for herself by some horrible person. Although I'll admit to a degree of bias here solac77!

What about pet insurance (if you have it) Doesn't that cover any damage carnage! Perpetua Oooooo . . . . that's a point Dave! Didn't think of that, I've claimed so infrequently on insurances over the years that it's kinda of the last thing that comes into my head. We're with Petplan, so I'll try them next. ... She is a gorgeous girly . . . . . such a sweet, gentle nature and quite a timid soul ... ... who also happens to like eating cars! ++ I'm not real surprised at the stand your insurance company took. Damn. First time for everything Dave . . . . and I'm even more convinced now that something/someone spooked her, as she was frantic when I got back to the car after a short space of time really - where normally she doesn't bother even acknowledging me, other than perhaps a quick sniff incase I've bought something yummy! Yep, that's insurance companies for you, but I'll try the pet people as dagl has suggested.

What a bummer Perpetua, but no loss of life or limb then it's not a disaster. I have friend who is a complete petrol head, showed him the pictures and explained what happened, his response was priceless "I take it the repair company are not dog friendly at £400-500 to fix it"

I have friend who is a complete petrol head, showed him the pictures and explained what happened, his response was priceless "I take it the repair company are not dog friendly at £400-500 to fix it" That did give me a laugh striker42! I'll be pleading penniless old woman with a dog to support when the lining comes in and the car goes for repair. Although I've since discovered that where she's had a munch at the window catch it's come off its spindle thing and doesn't lock - so I'm hoping that they can just ' persuade ' that back on without the need to replace more gubbins. We'll see! Meanwhile, after an unrewarding 45minute phone call to PetPlan . . . . . surprise, surprise they don't provide cover for this type of situation. The phone call ended with the very pleasant girl asking if there was anything else she could help me with . . . . took me all my time not to screech down the line, you haven't flipping helped me with what I've phoned about - what makes you think you can offer further assistance?! But I didn't.

Shame that the pet insurance didn't help on this occasion Perpetua. I'll hand it to you tho, you've handled the situation remarkably well
