Theres being rich... and then theres silly rich. Think how much better the world could be if all the worlds billionaires clubbed together and put a chunk of their fortunes to good use or gave it to me

Some of these people have more money than many small countries ... But I've seen a number (inc several "high flying" Aussies) who do not seem to agree with us. I kinda think, once they get past having all they need plus lots, the money is no longer relevant and it then becomes a "power" and/or "status" thing. If you are among the richest in your country, you carry a lot of influence in how things get done. Even moreso if you are among the world's richest. But, still, I find that to be an incomprehensible amount of money for one person.

I've always said that if I ever had that much money ( which I never will of course! ) that I could make a lot of people and animals happy - not that I wouldn't indulge myself some, but there's a limit. Money is like a God to some . . . .

And why not . . . . as long as it doesn't spoil or rule the person who you truly are. We have some very well heeled and titled people who shop at our store, without exception the ones I've encountered have been modest and very unassuming human beings.

The owner of the company i now work for is bloody minted. Yet the nicest, most down to earth boss i have ever had. Money doesnt always change people.

Watching the live questioning of Zuckerberg now, as Trump would say very very sad they have a bunch of politicians that don't understand sh1t muddying the waters, not quite as embarrassingly bad as our home secretary, but still like asking me to understand an ancient text in a dead language that had some pictures. They need good experts like interpretors beside them and not do a UK home secretary who has accused the whole tech expert community of patronising her because the weren't yes women and she ran out of people to ask.
A key point should is why don't fb anonymise the data as a matter of course (cause far more valuable to be able target key people), you can understand the world with anonymous data, you can control it with lots of personal data, the former is still valuable, the latter is privatised Big Brother.
Also fb is free to the user and cost a lot to run so they should be able to make money from their users data, but IMO it should be anonymised.

Slightly off topic, but relevant . . . . we have new Data Protection Regulations coming into force from May 25th: ico.org.uk/media/for-organisations/documents/1624219/preparing-for-the-gdpr-12-steps.pdf

Friend at work today, very very IT literate, said he was worried how much his mobile phone was listening when not in use, he had a conversation about hair loss in the kitchen, has never searched or look at bald cure www sites and got hair replacement adds on his phone the next time he looked at it, 10-15 mins after. Proves nothing, but doest raise suspicions.
