Hi all

This is a thread for discussion of pretty much anything guitar-related. In particular, following the discussion that began here (allaboute-cigarettes.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=newmembers&action=display&thread=990&page=70), I thought it might be useful for people who are learning to play guitar and want to get some advice.

I don't have anything specific to add at the moment, so here's a picture of my guitar instead!

Nice collection, Al! What are the makes? Apart from the Jackson, I can't quite tell. The Les Pauls look like Gibson rather than copies, but again I can't quite read the headstocks.

The Black one is a Hamer Californication, the Jackson is a DXMG, the red one is a Vintage VP6
Second pic Vintage VS6 ( You can't do Angus without an SG ) The Les Paul is a Burny RLG Super Grade not a Gibson.

There is no way that I would pay Gibson prices for an LP The Burny with an electrics and pups upgrade, is easily comparable to a Gibson LP Traditional.

Hell I've only been learning just over a year and I have 2. God knows how many I will have in a few years.

lol, I've only bought 2 guitars in 22 years! A cheap one that I bought initially (a "Charvette", which is a budget version of a Charvel), and the Ibanez pictured above, which I got when I decided to upgrade to something decent. Maybe it's just that I'm happy with the sounds I get out of the Ibanez, and I haven't felt the need to get anything else. Or maybe I'm just tight.

I'm afraid that I don't do any recording Kuro and some of my friends have been going on at me for a few years to do some. It may happen in the future, but in the mean time I'm just happy progressing my playing and playing the odd impromptu gig when friends come around LOL.

Kudos to Flipflop for doing all the Youtube stuff, you are indeed a braver man than me

Yes I have a serious GAS ( Guitar Acquisition Syndrome ) problem, but I use them all and they all have a specific purpose I'm now beginning to have a similar problem with vaping gear LOL ( New shiny LT 2.1 pre ordered)

If your guitar does everything that you need it to Kuro, then that is just fine Although a backup or two doesn't hurt

Thought I'd post a riff I really like. Might be a good one for beginners like flipflop to try and learn. It's quite challenging, but satisfying if you can nail it.

It's the intro riff from "Vortex" by Megadeth. Here's the tune:
