My own mother is one of those people and it drives me insane!!
After a 10 night stay in hospital unable to move a few weeks ago the first thing I did when I got outside was get my device out of my coat pocket!! Her response was "surely you can do without that Now???
I just ignored her and carried on puffing thinking to myself "she'd be the first to complain if I started smoking again "
You can't win with some people and as prr would say "you can't educate pork!!!!

I find mostly, that vaping is an excuse for serial moaners to .............. well.................moan. I wouldn't put myself in the clouds for days category, but my vape isn't exactly invisible either. With that in mind, I do and I'm sure others do likewise, tend to try and avoid vaping where it could annoy people. I have found that doesn't even deter people who are determined to moan and have their say. My last incident of note was when I went to the Christmas market at Edinburgh in December 2017 ( highly recommended for anyone who can get there). Having spotted a gentleman vaping in a quiet spot behind the market stalls, I made my way through a gap to join him for a few tokes. Turned out the man came from Warwickshire and was spending a few days in Edinburgh, taking in the market as part of a bus tour. As we chatted, a figure appeared through the darkness, the look on his face said he definitely had a wasp up his arse about something. His announcement went thus "that fu*k%ng shit should be banned" my reply, after a large draw on that nights weapon of choice, " so should stupid people, but they're not and the EU don't even regulate them". End of conversation.

I hear that one a lot. I always say there are plenty of other flavours available.

Must admit, thebishman, I also get irritated by some people’s tendency to think they know what is best for other people and take every opportunity to tell them about it.

I especially dislike that they claim they are doing it out of concern for others. I think they just enjoy feeling smug, and none of us like being smugged on!

I usually ask them which bit of research they are basing their opinion on. That usually shuts them up. I call it Smugging the Smuggers.
