I need to rant. Im normally fine with people slaggin off vaping. I try to educate in a non patronising way. Mostly do well with that.

But just recently i seem to be lacking paitience with this. The patronising snipes and uneducated comments have been grating on me big time!!


Shall i just not bother trying to educate them now and just say yeah mate and walk off?

Ok...some i dont mind pssin off! But...i just feel it necessary to actually help them off the fags

You can only help those who want it otherwise your spitting into the wind, so educate those who will listen and leave the rest to catch up at some point.

I adopt a ‘Passive Aggressive’ attitude thebishman.

As an example if I’m told vaping is just as bad or as expensive as smoking then my reply would be “maybe but I enjoy it” or something similar that will not draw me into a no win debate.

The people that want your help will ask you questions about your equipment in hand and experiences and not make general statements to provoke you. (virtual trolls in the flesh)

The benefits of Vaping is well documented and easily researched online nowadays so other than equipment/juice recommendations that have worked for you, steer clear of trying to educate those that are just looking for an argument.

Just like religion, you either get it or you don’t.

Rise above it thebishman . . . . secure in the knowledge that your habit is infinitely less harmful to yourself and those around you, than sparking up a cigarette.

Closed minds, who are determined to stay shut for whatever reason, aren't worth your time or effort. Save that for those who are genuinely interested in finding a healthier alternative to smoking, which actually works.

Well it looks like ive converted yet another smoker to vaping. This one was a tough nut to crack. 35 years of smoking. And she is down to 1 fag a day at the moment. Im making her juice for her so experimenting with nic strength. I must have helped convert over 20 people now that havent gone back to fags. Possibly 30 odd actually

I often get idiots saying there's no real proof vaping is safe, in a stroppy way in front of a crowd. I just say well ive been on it over 7 years and i feel a lot better, if you believe that then stick to your fags and kill yourself.
If people approach me in a respectful way then i have time and respect for them. These people are often looking for help.
I've had people in the past slag it off and then months later ask me for help. I don't hold the past ignorance against them though as fags like most nad habits make people have a false sense of confidence.
Don't let them get to you thebishman as it just ain't worth stressing about. Just be proud that you're off the fags and you're more educated than the aggressors 😊

I stock response nowadays is a simple one.

"Well, it's safer than eating bacon."

And then I just ignore them, as it is not my job to educate the wilfully ignorant.

My comment is based on the research by Public Health England and the Royal College of Physicians that estimates vaping to be between 95 and 98% safer than smoking tobacco, combined with the Cancer Research UK statistics below.
