Hi guys, yesterday I dropped my ego 510 in the park. I found it today, lying in the grass in 29 degree heat. When I picked it up it was hot, but not too hot to touch it - like touching a car seatbelt on a hot day. It’s cooled down now - do you think it’s safe to use? Just checking in case there’s a slight danger of it blowing up on me or something, cheers..

It should be absolutely fine but the eliquid might be a bit off as heat can effect nicotine but I wouldn't worry about it it's probably not noticeable at all.

I'll come back later and tell of one of my episodes doing the same. Suffice it to say my gear suffered no lasting ill, affects.

In other parts of the world ... maybe not so much. Short answer is that I believe you'll see no lasting ill affects. Here summer often maxes out around high 30 and sometimes into 40 degree temps. I think nothing of carrying my vapes outside or into the shed in such temps - they survive it far better than I do. Small story to highlight my point: Long ago, in my early vaping days, we had to attend some appointment with a bank or some such in full summer. We parked the car in the shopping centre over the road. Full sun, no shade, middle of the day, locked car, black insides on a day that was in the high 30s. The nature of our meeting meant I left my two vapes in the car's centre console - I honestly didn't think about it further than the vape gizmos wouldn't be appreciated inside the bank. After about 90 minutes we returned to the car. As you might imagine, the inside of the car was "red hot". Way hotter the outside high 30 temps. We did the normal summer thing here: turned on the engine, fired up the airconditioner, set fans to full blast, opened the doors and stood beside the car to give the fans a chance to blow out the built up sauna temp air from inside the car. Whilst waiting, I grabbed my vapes. BOTH were oldie carto tanks mounted on vamos. Both were badly flooded and had heavily leaked. Tee shirt to do a quick wipe over, then I tried to fire 'em (I was still newly converted from smoking - and I NEEDED a vape after the bank meeting). Only one of my two Vamo's would fire. I believe the second had exceeded the inbuilt thermal overload cutouts ... whatever, it wouldn't fire. After 15 or so minutes with the failed vamo positioned in front of an airconditioner outlet on the drive home, it resumed working correctly. BOTH tanks leaked considerably, but once the flooding was cleared were perfectly fine. I simply topped up the liquid next time and continued normally. BOTH mods remained fine and showed no ill affects from the heat - including the two internal 18650 batteries which remain in use in my flashlights to this day. NOT that I recommend such actions, mind. Clearly, subjecting your liquids, gear and batteries to that is not recommended or advised. But in my case, I saw no lasting ill affects.
And glad ya found your lost vape. Maybe a spare, just in case?

Haha thanks DaveJ , good to know. My vape fell through a hole in my pocket, probably newly-formed from the vape itself, and I found it when retracing my steps. Got a spare vape, and another temperamental old one for emergencies.
