It might not be all good news though. For instance this passage in the introduction: "A medically licensed e-cigarette could assist smoking cessation efforts by making it easier for medical professionals to discuss and recommend them as a stop smoking treatment with patients. The Government should review with the e-cigarette industry how its systems for approving stop smoking therapies could be streamlined to be able to respond appropriately should e-cigarette manufacturers put forward a product for licensing."Consider, IF a medically licensed product did get approved then this would open the door to banning non medically licensed products. The Govenment could say that there is a licensed product therefore we can ban non licensed. This would also give the Government control of Taxes levied which may rise significantly.

Agreed.... look what happened with the one & only medically-approved e-cig a couple of years ago... remember?? ...the ineffective cig-a-like that never made it into production as it was well behind the technology drag-curve even then.... There should be no need to medicinalise (sp?) vaping, it's cheaper than smoking or prescription charges anyway....

I saw that research guy on BBC Breakfast as well...translating his words = "give me more funding so I can prove I'm right and everyone else is wrong". I haven't seen his study yet, but I'm betting the good Doctor F. will show it to be flawed (as most of them are...formaldehyde anyone??) and how.
