www.bbc.co.uk/news/health-45212444Can you imagine if they bought back 24mg or even 72mg for mixers. In the report they call for: greater freedom for industry to advertise e-cigarettes relaxing of regulations and tax duties on e-cigarettes to reflect their relative health benefits an annual review of the health effects of e-cigarettes, as well as heat-not-burn products a debate on vaping in public spaces, such as on public transport and in offices e-cigarettes licensed as medical devices a rethink on limits on refill strengths and tank sizesan end to the ban on snus - an oral tobacco product which is illegal in the UK under EU rules

Have you read any of the comments. There appears to be so much anger and even hatred towards vapers, I couldn't believe some of the posts I was reading

I chose not to read the majority of them toots , as it would do my blood pressure no favours . . . . . bottom line for me, because of the negativity that has largely been par for the course over the years certainly since I've been vaping, I do not expect to be treated any differently than someone who smokes.
( Despite knowing that our habit is hugely more beneficial to anyone's health and there are no dangers to anyone inhaling second hand vapour. )
This I have no extreme problem with, more an acceptance and sadness that a hatchet job has been so well done.
The best I hope for, is that vaping is seen and believed to be a very, very credible alternative to tobacco cigarettes and if this current wave of publicity convinces a current smoker(s) that our system of obtaining nicotine could be for them and they give it a try as a result, then that will be an achievement in my world.
To give anyone reading this on an open forum an example . . . . a dog walking acquaintance of mine ( Colin from the Common ) a gentleman in his 70's who had smoked his entire adult life, is coming up to 2 years cigarette free in October thanks to e-cigarettes.
Result.

D'ya know what? Reading some of the ill-informed, arrogant and downright nasty comments on that BBC story, it can really make you think why bother??
Then you look around you, see your nearest & dearest off the fags too, and the great community on here, and you know EXACTLY why you bother....

Then you look around you, see your nearest & dearest off the fags too, and the great community on here, and you know EXACTLY why you bother.... Yeah I know exactly what you mean. I read a load of the comments earlier this afternoon before I went out to play bingo in a bar and I was actually wary of popping out for a vape due to all the UK people on holiday outside the pool bar seeing me with my mod and tank blowing out some vapour. In the whole 2 and a half hours I only popped out once coz I was actually afraid I might get lynched by a mob not liking my vapour blowing their way. How sad is that eh!! When I came back home I started reading some more of the comments, shouldn't have done really coz it just made me both angry and upset, and I did also think like you GunJack why bother, why the hell did I bother to pack up the smoking only to be thought of not just as bad as a smoker but even worse than a smoker, which appears to be the consensus of a lot of the people commenting on that article. Then I read Perpetua 's post and realised that yeah I am still glad that I gave up, and that I joined this community who supported me and many others on here with our vaping journeys, and that there are some decent people stilll around in the UK who will stick together and help each other out. We've all come along way since our smoking days and we should be proud of ourselves, no matter what others think or say about us. Yeah, I've been lifted now by both Perpetua 's post and yours GunJack - happy vaping everyone and sod the rest of 'em

The comments on the BBC's HYS never cease to amaze me but what I always find strange is the highest rated comments are invariably the lowest rated comments as well (and vice versa I suppose). What I really hate though is the ill-informed rubbish and outright lies that are spouted and can never be challenged when 'this section is closed for further comments' usually by the time I look at them ….. A cracking example of which can be seen in comment No.3 "3. Posted by G713 on 17 Aug 2018 10:04 Although E-cigarettes don't contain tar and thousands of other carcinogenic chemicals, there still hasn't been enough long-term data to say that they are safe. In fact, my transplant consultant said that she's had to perform lung transplants on people who have developed lung fibrosis (popcorn lung) caused directly by e-cigarettes. Be warned! " Has anyone on here found a case such as this posted anywhere that can be verified ? I was under the impression that no case of popcorn lung could be attributed to smoking with its extremely higher concentration of diacetyl never mind vaping. It gets me annoyed to say the least

Carry on with your good work England.
Eventually, maybe, perhaps .. your example will finally get thro to the muppets who make the rules here.
