I have a fag 1-3 times a year just so I can look it in the eye and tell it it has lost all the power it used to have over me. Must admit I couldnt do that, cant even abide the smell of smoke in the vicinity any more....

ETA if I had to go to a country that I couldn't vape in I would smoke, well over 30 years smoking what's the point of worrying over a week or two extra, but would be vaping again as soon as I got to a non insane country.

Yes, I agree whole-hardly with that. I'm unlikely to be in a country where vaping is banned, but if I ever was, I would see no problem with smoking for the duration.
Smoking or vaping is my decision and I am buggered if I will let others dictate how I live my life.
This world has far too many "Goody Goody Two Shooed" folks who feel they have the right to spread the word about we should live a better life. The worst by far are the politicians.

Echo lobeydosser view that way too many people are telling me/us what we can and not do. There is some merit when my actions can impact negatively on others (like drink driving, for example) but when they do not (as in vaping) then just but-out. (*) I also echo VapingBad in that I know I was a hard core, long term, locked in smoker (37 years). Unlike Jon though, I honestly do not feel I could simply have one or two and then put 'em down again, at least not easily. I know the hold they had, the struggle I had to break that hold and I fear giving 'em another chance to regain that hold. That said, I can easily be around those who are smoking without issue, so long as I have a vape with me. AS for going somewhere where vaping is not legal? I've no plans to go to any such place. That's aside from the issue that, err, some aspects of vaping are not quite kosher here anyway. *shrug*. * A pun!

I read that when I still had my non-reading glasses on and it read PUNT. Why would one not be allowed to Vape in a Punt I ask myself!!!!!!
Gawd, I'm going senile!!!!!!

Cannot see myself going back to smoking, for one thing I’d have so much less to spend on vaping gear and juice mixing... but also I can now better afford nice holidays, theatre seats, nice meals out and I don’t have to keep such a close eye on my bank balance, before I switched, heavy smoking was playing hell with it!

If I am given the choice, then I do not see me ever going back to smoking.
However, the world of politics is such a weird place, run by so many idiots who's dreams and goals are far removed from sane and sensible people, that whilst I hope and pray that our future well being comes down to our choice in such matters, I doubt it.
Thankfully, at the moment, Westminster has the power to decide whether I continue to Vape or not. Unfortunately in the future it may be up to individual regional governments to make these regional decisions and the SNP have already drawn up plans for smoking and other accompanying "hobbies" to be banned by 2036.

Hi djs I can understand the "sprouts" in Brussels misreading the attitude of the people in the UK, but I will never understand the SNP misreading the thoughts of our own people. Being free to make up our own opinions about how we run our own lives is a basic right that those that went before us, fought and died for. For the "Fish Faces" of this country, the Sturgeons and the Salmons to try to take this away from us, well "Cod" help us. It will take a Mackerel to get out of this.
