Winter is approaching. Mrs feels the cold like you wouldnt believe. Heated coat/jacket is the answer!
Anyone got experience of them?
If they are as good as what the interweb reviews are saying then i might surprise her with one... she will be warm when we go out walking the dog etc...and my ears will stop bleeding from the constant "im cold...its cold...its freezing etc etc etc" lol

Layered clothing is probably better, thermal vest, top, then jumper/cardigan, thin hoodie then a decent top coat/jacket

ft were doing a heated vest type thing for not much money they seem to use the same idea that you can get in motorcycle leathers for the price ft were charging i was a little concerned that i might turn in to a fire ball if it shorted out if you want ill find the link and you can test it out on the wife ,if she hasn't burst in to flames by end of a month ill get one

I can't remember the make thebishman but there is one made specifically for sports/equestrian people and it got good solid reviews when I saw it advertised, for the life of me I can't remember who made it though - soz

You're thinking of something like this thebishman ?
I've bought a couple now, a 3/4 length and a full length, both in a size too big so I can pile the layers on underneath if needs be, although I've found that these keep me really toasty so just a couple of extra layers have been more than sufficient.

I too would suspect batteries would be an issue. In the case of motorbike heated jackets there is a power source.... the motorbike battery & engine. Heating takes a lot of energy and to run a heater off a couple of lithium batteries, I suspect that they won't last that long between charges.
Feel free to prove me wrong!

I ride a mo bike all winter never needed a heated jacket. Heated grips tho, now were talking. Good luck with the search bish, these might be of use if you cant find a suitable jacket. Not for the Mrs but for you, will shut out most of the "im cold...its cold...its freezing etc etc etc" lol.

Not really, have heard of them tho', I only feel the cold if it gets below freezing, last winter a t-shirt, thin hoodie and jacket was all I wore. Why are women always like ice-blocks, my late missus was always freezing, and most of them that I have worked with always have cold hands....
