How time flies. I just realised that I have been vaping for 5 years and nearly 1 year nicotine free. All I can say is thanks you vaping crowd for the encouragement we give each other each day. Not a single fag has been smoked in 5 years, although I must admit to a drag of a friends spliff. I nearly chocked. So I won't try that again in a hurry. Even after all this time I still like the smell of tobacco smoke, but it doesn't tempt me to go back there. I just need to stop buying new vaping stuff. Thanks everyone.

Well done on keeping costs down. I think the problem is that I get an email from Fasttech every day.

.... I just realised that I have been vaping for 5 years and nearly 1 year nicotine free. ... Woohoo!
Well done, very well done! Feels good, doesn't it?
++ Especially the nic free bit. There's something I am not sure I'd be up for now or any time soon.

The nic free bit was actually easy as I slowly weaned myself off nic by reducing slowly over the the previous 4 years. I went down to 0.1% by the end and decided to go to zero and see how it went. I think it was more psychological than anything else by then. I would go months between drops so I guess my body became used to the reduction. I did start at 30% and after about 4 months started reducing. I had planned on it taking two years, but thought what the heck why rush.
I usually don't vape when at work now so leave my unit in the car and have a toot to and from work. I still like to vape but at least I know I'm not addicted.

Congrats Bobsbeer I've also (at long last) started weaning myself off the nic content, & finding it surprisingly easy.

Just don't rush it Chrissie. 1% at a time and you will get there. Good luck.

I am down to .6% but that is down from 3.6% and it has only taken me nine years. Plus I was still smoking then as well, I must have been almost entirely sustained by nicotine washed down with alcohol back then.
Those where the days.

The nic free bit was actually easy as I slowly weaned myself off nic by reducing slowly over the the previous 4 years. ... You are certainly not the first I've heard who has successfully achieved nic free. Good for you too! I do know a couple who have even gone that step further and dropped the vape altogether. But, for me, I cannot see either happening anytime soon. Damn - it took me several years before I could face the thought of disposing the coupla cartons of smokes in the kitchen cupboard. I have dropped my nic ratio somewhat over the years, but I sorta reckon the better gear nowdays prolly delivers more nic into me than the higher nic ratio in the oldie gear I first started with. For me, I'm just not overly concerned about using nic (or vaping for that matter) in the long term, but I do acknowledge and respect your achievement. ... I must have been almost entirely sustained by nicotine washed down with alcohol back then. Those where the days. hehe - it was nicotine and coffee for me.
++ Hang on - it still is! *grin*

We have to have some vices in our lives or it would be boring. While I may not rush to grab the vape in a morning I do rush for coffee. And later . At least I don't need to stand outside in the pub.
