I would hate it to be regulated, telling us what juice to use and when and to be pressured into cutting the nicotine down at a rate they deem suitable rather what I deem suitable. As far as I'm concerned I am a non smoker and very proud of that I am, too. I'm quite lucky that my family and friends see it that way too, a couple of whom have also started vaping now.
The reason I failed the majority of other methods and I've tried them all is because I was being told what to do and when. I hate that with a passion I don't care if it takes me a few years to cut out the nicotine as long as I'm not smoking.

Though i do stand by my thinking that they made far more money from taxes on cigs than they paid out when a smoker got ill.

I think the preferred terminology is switching rather than quitting.
We have all just changed the way we intake our nicotine.
As for the government , we all know that at some point someone is going to say " sod this there's a taxable market we're missing out on "
But we still have to wait for the MHRA's decision

Long may we continue to fly under the radar.

I agree, in fact I'd go as far as to say that from my experience, they use the fact that someone is a smoker as a cop out from treating them for certain things. I'll agree with that too, but don't forget that good old Gov make a pile more than the revenue thats raised from tax on tobacco. They also raise 20% vat on all the other smoking related stuff such as lighters, papers, pipes, ashtrays etc. Then theres the income tax payed by all people employed in the tobacco industry. Taxes payed by the owners and employees of shops, newsagents and off licenses etc. Income tax paid by employees of distribution companies and hauliers etc. Fuel and vehicle licence duty paid by hauliers to transport tobacco products. So they raise "Billions" of pounds more from tobacco and tobacco related products than they will ever spend on the National Health Service in ten years of bloody Sundays. And as for the old chestnut from the clowns that say, "Oh they should ban smoking and that would be an end to all the problems", huh great, millions and millions more pounds would have to be forked out in benefit payments to thousands of newly unemployed ex-tobacco industy workers. Smokers, drinkers and drivers have propped up this nations economy for the last 30 years. Next time you hear someone say that smoking should be banned, laugh yourself silly, because you'll know that your talking to an arsehat.

It's not smoking cessation, it's tobacco cessation. (I should trademark that one ).
