I have it in Watts mode. the coil is showing at 1.46 which looks right. I havw tried bypass mode and this doesn't work either. 5 quick presses on the fire button does nothing, so maybe it just won't switch on.

Is that the mod with the fire button lock on the top of it monty ? If so, have you made sure it's unlocked (sorry but I have to ask that) or at least tried giving the switch a good rumble on and off a few times ?

Ah well - it was a long shot.
So it looks like the fire button is behind one of the battery covers ? Take the cover off and push the button itself. Does it feel nice and clicky ?
I don't have that mod so can't really advise anything else apart from open it up if it's not too tricky and check the switches/buttons aren't gunked up with juice and were working okay electrically with a multimeter.
