Hi all
I've not been around here for a long time, and just logged back in and noticed how slow things are. Have vaping Forums slowed right down nowadays? Guess it was going to happen eventually, as the boom when it was all new has kinda died off.
Anyway, glad to still see a few members around, I'll pop in from time to time...

In my opinion definitely 1 I know of has now closed which is sad but at least AAEC is still going and hopefully will continue for a long time to come.

Yeah hope this place says open, it was/is the only UK vape Forum I use,,,
My Forum (Thailand based) is kinda the same, had a great boom back when vaping was new and fresh but is slower than it's ever been nowadays getting just a few posts a day, I can remember when it was pages of new posts a day , although that could also be due to the laws on vaping in Thailand and also members no longer living in Thailand...

I am on a few other forums not all vaping and whilst FB has had some impact, I think people have been able to read through the many posts on established forums and gain a lot of info therefore negating the need to join and post, so success has also been the catalyst in some ways.

It is a different world now.
Vaping is "old hat".
The tech has advanced to the point where most of the stuff just "works".
We also have mainstream devices that many only dreamed of in 2013.
I think forums can still be useful to folks looking for support while quitting smoking/cigarettes using electronic cigarettes.
The issue is dilution. People have more web based options these days.

Yeah pretty much everything works great out of the box, there are bundles of choices of device too, also readily available everywhere and it's cheap, even the Chinese clone factories pretty much gave up on bothering to make knock off VW or TC mods years ago now. There are still people posting regularly here but it's pretty much exclusively just old members. Just had a look at the new members section there are 6 intro threads so far for the year and 2 of those are old members reintroducing themselves after being gone a while.

Totally agree Izan . . . . gone are the days when we had to struggle with under performing equipment, which can only be a good thing even if there is a knock on effect.
Add in to the mix of all that's been mentioned so far, there are considerably more High Street outlets for would be or established vapers to obtain their supplies and advice. There's a hand full of vapers at work other than myself, not one of them uses a forum or indeed the internet for anything vaping related - they are all content to visit the one small shop we have locally, even if it means they pay more for stuff.
While it's a loss for us and forums in general, if it means that smokers are still switching and maintaining their vaping via other available outlets, then that has to be a positive.

It seems to be similar in Oz too, I mean the decline of forums (vape and others)
And that's without a wide range of B&M retail stores here that you guys seem to have there. Although to be fair, recently, there are some vape stores popping up around the place. But, by regulation, they are not able to sell some key components of the vaping puzzle.
I tend to agree with previous comments - the facebook thing, including all the other social media outlets (redit and such) AND the fact that now days most products work pretty well and seem readily available online.
In times past - when I first started (and that's no where as long ago as some of you) - it was hard to find out what all those funny abbreviations and words meant. EGO and 510, slotted, dryburning and so on. How to prime and fill various tanks. Damn, there were huge how-tos on the mysteries of carto priming (condom method anyone? *grin*) ... In those days, there were far fewer places to find answers so a decent forum was the go to.
Nowdays, not so much. And it shows in number of posts and new memberships and nature of subjects talked about.
It's good that potential converts from smoking to vaping have a far easier time sourcing info and product than us "oldies" had way back when, but damn, I do feel sad to see the slow but steady downturn of forums like this one.
And no matter what some folks say, I just cannot get the attraction of either facebook or reddit.

I also would say when we all started we had to "look" for info, But now everybody knows a person or two that vapes so they ask them rather than looking it up online and joining a forum.

It definitely is a bit quiet but i reckon this is still the bestest forum for friendly advice without all that 'attitude' (sneering at people with 'lesser' devices/for asking simple questions etc) Whilst I don't always log in (there's probably many members doing this too), never a day passes that I do not visit this place. I love to see what others are using and what's new..and just about every bit of kit is new for me haha I'd always trust recommendations/experience/advice from our forum members here above many of the various reviews on the web (don't go near FB either!)

I also think it is mainly due to so many B&M shops that people can just walk into & get advice. There were non at all when I first set up this forum. Plus as B Road Blaster says " But now everybody knows a person or two that vapes so they ask them rather than looking it up online and joining a forum"
