Been looking for a new squonker. Requirements are size and weight. Many new ones are catering for 20700 and 21700, making them slightly bigger. I looked on fogstar, but the mah of these are only a touch higher than some 18650 batteries. So what's the point?

ShockLi 21700 batteries are 4000 mAh @ 20A continuous/30A Pulse output, much better (approx 25%) than most high capacity 18650's

Can only see the benefit for super sub ohming. I have a 26650 with higher mah and rating. Same length as an 18650, but chubbier. The hunt continues.

21700 cells hold a higher voltage for longer, a lot of the time with 18650 it's the volts drop to low earlier which is where the mAh doesn't matter.
If your ohms and watts demand say 4v then a 21700 will last a good bit longer than any 18650.
Regarding squonkers, the hugo squeezer seems to be reasonable and cheap for mech, top side seems to be decent for a reg that isn't huge.
Some take multiple cells too but then you're adding to the weight and size.

Ta, I'm not sure I understand most of that, but anyway. My obsession with small mods is difficult to justify. I only use a squonker at home, or long journeys in the car. I have a boxer clone, bought for fun, which is dinky and brilliant. Will have a look at the topside.

The bigger batteries have more balls and can take lower sub Ohm builds. You will get more life/run time out of them compared to any 18650. You’re not stressing the battery as much. Some of the 21700 are 4250 mah so definitely more than any 18650. Those are good in a decent regulated device, I definitely got my vape time from those in a DNA 75c device.
I run Samsung 30T’s in one of my mech squonkers with a larger Alien coil(more power hungry), it’s a decent battery. As always refer to Mooch’s battery test results to know which battery will be right for you

Just got a Puzzle box mech squonker. With the build I have in one of my atomisers I get a great vape from about 10ml of juice from one VTC 5a battery. Your coil build is just as important as your battery.

Well I've bought an asmodus luna squonk from sourcemore for £30. I keep my coils at around 0.3ohm on 18650's and I'm happy enough. Although I always carry spares anyway so I don't worry about it.
