Maybe time for a change/upgrade?

Hi all,

Been using the Kanger Subtank for many years now (never dropped it once) and it has served me well.

The only change it has had is the re-buildable part was changed to a newer vesion that has bigger juice holes.

My son does all the re-building for me, new coils, new cotton, think he uses 0.2 kanthal and cotton bacon, i vape at 0.5ohms at 28w...well that is what my screen shows me

Battery i use is a Aspire NX80 (stainless steel version) and serves me very well.

My question is, has things changed tank wise over the years, is there a tank out there that is as easy to re-build as the Kanger Subtank and produces a better vape?

I want to get a new tank but i don't want to get one that is harder to build than the one i have as it's not me building it, it's my son and he builds it with ease.

Or do you think it's a case of "If it ain't broken, Don't fix it"?

Think i am just bored of looking at the same tank over the years

Just bought these from fastech They coil and wick on the same style as the sub tanks.I wanted something to replace my ubertoot tanks they seem better at the moment so time will tell.

Have dozens upon dozens of RTA's and the only one I've been using for well over a year is the Aromamizer Supreme V2.1 everything else is just sat in the cupboard.
Holds 5ml of juice as standard but you can get an extension kit glass which holds 8ml.
Comes with a dual coil deck but does come with plugs so you can blank off one side for single coil builds and I think you can buy a dedicated single coil deck as an extra.
Dead easy to build on but in all honesty I rarely install new coils i mostly just dry burn the coils give it a wash and replace the cotton takes a couple of minutes.
Most of all though it's just a cracking vape due to the direct side airflow to the coils.

Check out the hellvape Destiny RTA, Nice big SINGLE coil deck my monster 3.5mm 16x soft nickle wire coils fit easy.. doddle to wick, cut to deck length trim the end sides down by 1/8 or 1/4 the width and stuff in the holes,(watch a 90 sec utube clip) and the flavour is significantly deeper than from a subtank using a kanger rba with the same juice.. not the 7ml capacity of a subtank but few are these days..

I vape the Ni coil using tc @210c with a soft start and 20-24w starting power on a dna40.
bags of deep rich flavour tones i have 'overlooked' when vaping the same juice in a subtank lemo2 or goblin.. - I was happy with my attys.. So be mindful if you do upgrade you may not want to vape your old subtanks again

Hello again my dearios I just ordered what is for me a shiny new combo, though its been on the market for a year. Smok Morph 219. Bunch of attys too. Having had a couple of Smok Aliens for close to 4 years now, they never missed a step so happy to give them some more queen quids. I should get back into coil building, got enough materials to last till doomsday.

Thanks all for the replies, i have some questions regarding the Aromamizer Supreme V2.1, that tanks looks right up my street.

Well the questions are from my son as it will be him building it

1: Where is the best place to buy it in the UK, would also like to buy the dedicated single coil deck if stocked in the UK
2: Would kanthal 0.2 be ok with it for single coil (gonna presume yes)
3: If i was to put two coils in it would kanthal 0.2 still be ok?
4: I use cotton bacon, is that still the best stuff out there?
5: I noticed that it has a very big drip tip, can a 510 drip tip be used?...not a lover of those big drip tips.

Can't seem to find the single coil deck anywhere in stock it might be discontinued they definitely used to make one it's still listed at some places but listed as out of stock.

Yeah you can use any wire you like.

Yeah you could still use the same wire for dual coil just remember that if you use 2 coils that are the same number of wraps as a single coil build the resistance will be halved so if you want to shoot for the same resistance you'll have to double the wraps.

The drip tip is a 510 the supplied one is just shaped like that which makes it look wider any 510 drip tip will fit.

Cotton Bacon is fine.

If he was to dual coil with the Steam Crave Aromamizer Supreme v2 and i wanted the total ohms to be 0.5 would i need 2 x 0.25ohms pre-made coils?

If so do you know a place in the UK that sells pre-made kanthal coils?

Coils are in parallel... which means the combined value will be halved. i.e. to achieve 0.5 Ohms you would require 2 X 1.0 Ohms

Either size option would result in a build of about 0.5ohm when duel coiled.

Single coil or duel coil doesn't make a difference as long as the resistance of the build is within the specs of the mod it'll be fine.

Don't have that mod but if it's an 80W device I would imagine it can fire a 0.5ohm build no problem.

Just putting everything in the basket and noticed the Aromamizer Supreme V2.1 is 25mm wide and my battery is 22mm wide so their will be a overhang

As i'm getting a new tank i may aswell get a new battery to go with it, don't need anything fancy just something simple and not too big.

Ignore the last post, ordered the Aromamizer Supreme V2.1 and a new battery mod: Vaporesso GEN TC 220W Mod with two Sony VTC5A 18650 2600mAh 25A

Bigger mod than what i have now but not by much.
