So a bit of help needed here again peeps. So I've just bought me a Wismec r80 which takes 18650 batteries and it says discharging current must be over 25amps, now ive seen these LG batteries on E-Bay www.ebay.co.uk/itm/100-Genuine-LG-HG2-3000mAh-30A-3-7V-Rechargeable-Battery-flat-top/254833668797?hash=item3b554532bd:g:KQUAAOSw0theMten well at top of page it says 30amp but in read up lower down page it says 20amp continuous current discharge. So point being i suppose that`s no good ? So do you have any recommendations for any with built protection ? I used to buy from "Torchy the battery boy" on their years back when i was vaping but i can`t seem to find him now, knowing me maybe I'm not looking hard enough. ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Whilst I'm on here summink totally different here, but do you guys know of any decent strong coffee tobacco flavors, I'm vaping Ruthless Coffee tobacco atmo. As always appreciate the help peeps.

Another quick question you maybe able to help with, so the mod says use batteries at least 25amp discharge, I'm seeing batteries saying 20amp continuous discharge and 35amp pulse discharge, so are these ok to use would ya know mate ?

I'm unsure of the definition of "pulse discharge" and whether vaping could be considered such. Safer assuming continuous discharge figures IMO, but willing for others opinion.

For 25 A 18650 I would recommend the Molicel P26A or Sony VTC5A in that order, there may be others I am a bit out of date. As Postmodern Smoking go by the continuous rating as there is no standard pulse time, manufacture may mean current for 0.1 second, another 0.5, another 1.0, you would have to find the datasheets to know.

I would add there are no free lunches, the higher the current rating the lower the capacity.

I would go with the vtc5a all day in any mod, mech or regulated. Highest mAh you get in an 18650 is 3000 but at the expense of how long the battery can keep up the higher output. Like if your device is needing say 4v for the set up then the lower mAh battery will last longer.
If you're ever on facebook there's a good guy called mooch who rigorously tests all the batteries and gives the real figures of what they can truly do. So many are sooo overrated

I just have one or two more question you guys maybe able to help with. So these batteries are they, i might be wrong here but i think right word is "pcb protected" (imr & aw) type and if not would it be worth buying the protected type, sort of what's the difference and what added protection does summink like an imr or aw battery give over a none protected kind and would you advise getting these type more so over unprotected ? Better safe than sorry and all that stuff. Thanks guys.

No they are not PCB protected, your protection is using a good quality high current (amps) rating battery and a decent device. Unless you had a dead short circuit in a mechanical mod you should never get into a position that overstresses these batteries. I doubt you can get protection circuits that would work at vaping wattages unless you vape quite low, but they add a few mm to the battery and wouldn't fit any of today's devices.
IMR is a battery chemistry that would guard against chargers not stopping charge properly amongst other things, but I don't think they are made any more as a small change in chemistry negates that and good chargers are cheap and readily available today.
AW (Andrew Wong) was a supplier/manufacture who reportedly bought only the highest grade batteries and relabelled them, that was great 8+ years ago but not needed now the cells recommended above are even better.

Batteries have come a long way thanks to the huge market for high power rechargeable equipment like power tools, vacuum cleaners and Teslas. There are far more plants producing them now and manufacturing process are improving constantly.
