Vaping at work

I had a guy worked the other way round - he was a 'weekend' smoker, just bought a pack when he was going to the pub etc, but didn't smoke the rest of the time.
Now he's a chain vaper in the office.
I feel a bit evil.

I work in an office and go to clients' homes too. I vape at my desk and have converted completely 2 others with a 3rd on the way.....

A couple of non smokers did sort of object at first....comments like "oh, it looks exactly like smoke" and a lot of wafting of hands, coughing etc but they seem to have got used to it now.

I don't vape in clients homes as I am a nurse but have shown it to a few people who are smokers and expressed interest.

Me and Tafilad work at the same place, 1000+ employees, Tafilad started vaping first, then a week later I started, now about 5 months later there must be about 40 vapers in the one factory, but we can only vape in the Smoking areas, and sometimes there are more vapers than smokers, gets quite interesting then . Anyway, we spoke to different bosses and HR, then eventually they had a meeting to discuss what the rulings on ecigs will be. Most in the meeting did not have a clue what they were or bothered to look it up on web, some asked me or Tafilad and were OK with it. The announcement has not been made yet, but I was told what it was. It sounds great, but not really what the vaping community here are after. Only problem if we start making a stink about it is, they will ab all smoking and vaping on site!!!

One comment I had from a never smoking colleague who I share an office with, when I vaped in the office he did not like the smell!!! Yes, tried various flavours he thinks its wrong!

I will update the forum when the rules are announced (if ever they get fully agreed on).

You do get some funny reactions. The guy who sites next to me says it bugs him a lot, but just psychologically as it looks wrong, but just in a conversational way, not being difficult,and he also mentions when he can smell something - calls it joss sticks,
One girl wrinkled her nose and tried to wave the vapour away, so I blew a big cloud at her and asked her how bad it was - she had to admit it wasn't.
Another asked me not to vape in a meeting as she's a smoker and it made her crave one - fair enough, I didn't.
Although by now I don't think anyone really notices, just visitors and I enjoy seeing the confused looks, so it's all good.

i vape on the building site in the houses i paint and most people dont care either way wether its real or not but one guy did say that it was "gay" and that i should either smoke or not smoke but "fake fags" were jus stupid, but then he had more tattooes than teeth and i dont think he's much of an authority on the subject

People's reactions are diverse to say the least . . . at the Mini Meet, I asked the barman if he smoked . . . and he did.

So naturally I asked if he had considered ecigs, he said with a look of horror/disgust, that we just looked weird, so I took that as a no.

On a serious note as well as my late night club and Bar I also do a few mobile shows and now all my D.J's have moved onto Vaping from cigs "I wonder why" anyway we have not yet been told that we can not vape at any of our private venues we have done so far. We mainly do Weddings in Hotels so I am wondering if Hotel policies are allowing the public to do this far more than pubs and Bars.

Most of the engineers at my place are like that, i thought i was the only one that smoked, i smoked at work no one else did, then come works do, few beers and just about everyone else started smoking as well, i was like wtf.
