Vaping at work

sorry if already been asked. anyone vape at work, what reaction have you recieved. i vape on the factory floor and at break times. all the lads laugh and think its great (more from the ones with strong will power who stopped smoking). im from a time long ago, when you could go on a break and have a fag without any questions.
what is your experience if any

I vape at my desk and just about everywhere else around the depot I work..Had a few raised eyebrows initially but now they're my acolytes..

Sometimes my Ops Director wants to smell what I am vaping and I oblige by blowing vape at his face he keeps saying "I must try that" before shambling off to the smoke shed..

When I first started my apprenticeship in a factory , you could actually walk around smoking , almost anywhere except the chem labs , for obvious reasons .

Nowadays I vape when I want pretty much where I want , dependant on clients premises . I'm an air con engineer so spend most of my working day on a roof , so it isn't a problem for me , and the boss doesn't mind me vaping in the van so all is well

I've always worked in offices and used to be able to smoke at my desk. I went through loads of fags, barely smoking each one if I was busy.

Now I sit at my desk and vape and no-one's batted an eyelid - I did explain to them all that I had stopped smoking and was getting my nictoine fix via my vapouriser. I still go outside for a wander round the building if it's nice and I fancy some sunshine

When I was an aprentice, I worked on the tools, and each of the machines had an ashtray on them, I moved up to the offices and it was the general thought that if anyone in the office did not want smoke then it was a non smoking office. What happened then was we went into a smoking office to have our ciggys. Then it all got confusing with different laws and rules coming in, and we were banished to the smoking hut, which absolutly stank.

With todays laws where I work I was not even alowed to smoke in the open air, but had to go to a smoking shelter to get my fix. It is basically a bus shelter, then the laws changed again and they took the bottom bits of glass out of the shelters, which means it is as uncomfortable as can be but still providing a place. So now I vape, and there is a huge debate about it. until it is sorted, I still have to go to the smoking shelter and vape there breathing in all the passive smoke from others. mad isnt it!!!!!

I do not believe that they will ever allow vaping at the desk where I work as there are concerns that the vapour will be detected by the smoke alarms. I can under stand this as they go off at the slightest thing, linx deoderant is the worst culperate, with mince pies at christmas being burnt in the microwave coming top at christmas lol

No problem at work. The MD who sits behind me and did a double take the first time he saw me, but quite happy once I'd explained, and even got me to knock up a shopping list for his nephew to try and get him to stop smoking.
I've also got a few more people off cigs and all are vaping happily in our various offices.

I guess I've been lucky as the last two premises I've worked in, there are opportunities to have a stealthy vape, I'm always the first in line to volunteer for stockroom duties.

Where I'm working now, the vast majority are smokers who are always nipping outside for a ciggy, so they don't notice me having a little surreptitious vape.

I sometimes miss having a bit of a break, and a bit of fresh air, so still wander outside now and again.

I work in a room where there is 4 of us working at any one time, none of my colleagues have any problem with my vaping, we work on a shift pattern so there are 12 of us all together, 3 are ex smokers- 1 smokes cigars and 1 smokes cigarettes as well as vaping. I vape happily away whilst I work without issue, in fact I get called the air freshener I get requests for different smells
The only problem I ever had with vaping at work was when the top manager popped in and looked at me incredulously asking "are you smoking!" It was all explained to him and he went off quite happy - or so I thought, the very next morning I had to take a RANDOM drugs and alcohol test
That was over a year ago though and no one has ever commented since, I even sit in meetings and watch the smokers fidgeting in their seats gagging for their fix and watching me vape away quite happily, that envious look on their faces is something to be treasured
As fagin says though, I wander outside just for some fresh air

When I am at uni I happily vape away in the workshop Richard the workshop manager doesn't smoke and doesn't mind the vaping infact he is very intrigued by the technology behind it . The way I see it there are far worse dangers in the workshop than my vaping

I work in an office with a smoker and an ex-smoker. The smoker is fine with me vaping. The ex-smoker was initially not bothered by the idea of it, but the first time I vaped in front of him, he was completely taken aback by how "realistic" it looked (he'd never seen an e-cig in action before, and I don't think he anticipated the actual production of vapour - I guess he thought it would be like a nicotine inhaler or something!). He wasn't keen on this at all! Basically, he is an ex-smoker who struggles with temptation when he's around other people smoking. I can understand that, and I don't want to make him suffer, or be responsible for leading him astray, so I don't vape in the office when he's there. (Fortunately, the work he does often takes him out of the office! )

I vape at work without any issues. People have asked what on earth is that in my hand but i justtell them and they go ohhhhh, can i try it.

They then say they would like to get one. I show them the sites and give them the info but they never do buy. Maybe one day they will.
