Ok so I bought a couple of tanks from health cabin. Watched Scotts' tutorial & followed it to the end. Now Scott does say that the tanks have a tendency to slip. He wasn't wrong. I tried it on my LT & an eGo battery & it was a complete nightmare. Couldn''t gauge how far I screwed the carto down & the tank was slipping about thus leaking juice. I also found I wasn't getting much throat hit or vapour. The whole thing was pretty limp to say the least. Although the carto might have been DOA too. I don't want to give up just yet lol, but wouldn't mind some advice.

That's why I buy the flanged cartos, so they can't slip. More expensive, but less hassle, for me, anyway. Are you punching them yourself?

Has the slippage blocked off the hole you punched?

do you have a ming type drip tip... if you use one of those that will prevent the tank from slipping up the carto... and when used on your LT it shouldnt be able to move down as the connector is recessed so the tank should be nearly resting on the top of the lavatube
when screwing the tank on and off i turn via the drip tip so it helps if this is a nice tight fit... thus avoiding touching the tank completely

Yes I am punching the cartos myself. Well the one carto I've tried lol.
No, haven't got a ming vase style drip tip. If I'd have known, I'd have gotten one from HC.
When using it on the LT, it slips up, & when using on eGo style batts, it slips all over the place.
Anne, what are flanged cartos?

Ah right. Thanks macca.
Couldn't you just buy those flange things? Also how do they fit into the tank with those flange things?

No worries Anne. I haven't used tanks before & I just thought it was ok to use standard boges. When I watched Scotts' video, he was using standard boges.

The flanged end screws into the battery and the flange sits in a recess on the end bung of the tank..So it won't slip upwards and also some flanges have a flat resembling a "D" which sit on a corresponding "D" shaped recess in the tank and helps with unscrewing holding it by the tank..Like so:

Yes, you can use standard ones, as long as they're a good tight fit they shouldn't slip AFAIK.

Right I get it now.
Shame you couldn't just buy the flange bit. I have a good supply of boges, so don't want to start buying anymore at the moment.

I would say the one I tried was a good fit.
I will have another bash. Maybe it was just first timer problems lol. & will have to get a ming style drip tip.
