Hey guys.. Done something stupid yesterday, I was getting ready to go and see a mate filled tank etc i grabbed a battery(18350) and chucked it straight in my pocket (didnt think) so i have my loose change and some keys in my pocket along with my battery. so in the car i went,got to my mates i was sitting on the couch and i could feel a hot spot on my leg so i took the battery out and it was pretty hot luckily i noticed before it got too hot.. Im going to have to get a little battery box..i learnt something today..Never carry batteries loose in your pocket,bags etc

I did that with an 18490 in my pocket with some keys, the battery shorted and got bloody hot very quickly, blakey did no more and dropped his jeans to his ankles watching the pocket lining melting, the girlfriend was walking out of the kitchen at this time and seeing me with my jeans down said "You can f*ck off, I've just had a shower"

They should be fine Queenie, that's how I keep mine and haven't had any issues.

BTW if you buy batteries from Torchy boy off ebay ask him for an extra storage box , he's a nice bloke and usually sends you 2

Sorry for the dumb question - I've heard warnings about not carrying batteries in pockets, but can anyone tell me the science behind it? Is it the movement and heat of being in a pocket? Or is it caused by the batteries touching other things in the pocket (no innuendos please )?

It's all down to batteries getting shorted out with things such as keys and coins
