My pc is throwing a wobbly! It will not connect to the Internet, it is connected to the sky router fine but says there is no Internet access. I know the wireless and router is working ok as my iPhone is connected via wifi with no probs. I've tried turning the wireless adapter on/off on the pc but nope still won't work, tried deleting the Internet connection and putting it back as a new one- still nothing. Tried several rollbacks and diddly squat. Resetting the router etc also nothing. Virus scans = nothing. Now nothing will work on it!!! The icons are there but when clicked they all do nothing, can't even bring control panel up Someone please help me I need my puter

If the laptop is freezing, you need to find out why!!! (easier said than done), when I get wireless issues I first connect a cable from laptop to router and see if that works, if it does then the wireless part on laptop or on router most probably has the issue. If this is the case where a cable works OK, then now try wireless!, if still no good then I would check the switch on laptop for wireless is on OK, then this may sound mad but I would then go into device manager and delete the wireless device, then reboot, try to connect, enter the password, and see what happens (this would be a corrupt driver). Let me know if you need guidance on any part.
But, the freezing needs finding out, maybe go to event viewer to see if any logs for the freezing are shown!!!

as vaga said have a look in the event viewer and see whats causing problems ...then we can work through them if you are unsure what they are you can always write them down or take a pic of your screen

Click start--->run and type cmd
In the command prompt box that opens up type exactly as below including the spaces
ipconfig /flushdns
When that is finished type:
ipconfig /renew
Then your wireless will connect again..See if that helps and connects to tinterweb.

Ok well I'm having to start the pc in safe mode as it just freezes if started normally Macca, when I've typed that into command prompt it says: could not flush dns resolver cache: function failed during execution. I have no clue what this means! Also, any idea how I can get to event viewer whilst in safe mode?

Start---Run--Type services.msc
Find DNS Client in list..
Double Click Start it and make sure it's set to automatic start...
If your PC is freezing in normal mode it may be a bigger problem.

No it's not ok..
Are you in safe mode?
Edit; Ok Just re-read your earlier post..You need to start the computer in normal mode..Will not work in safe mode as all services will be disabled..

If it fails to start in normal mode I would suggest that you may need to use the recovery discs ( you should have most likely had to make them on first boot of lappy ). Don't panic , I'm not far away if you need any help
