Hi and welcome. I got my Riva last week. So 1 week in for me, today I have had 1 real cig when I first got up.
It's working well. I will get rid of that morning one soon I'm sure.

If the e-cig your dad bought was the Gamucci classic, then it was a way overpriced 801 model.

lol the 510 is the thread on the Riva which means that the Riva battery is compatible with all 510 thread cartos, atties, clearos or anything else you want to put on top of it.

555 is one of the juice blends, quite a nice tobacco flavour

510 is a type of connector, the 555 I was on about is an eliquid that has a taste that resembles the american ciggys calles state express (555). I could actually send you a sample of it once you have your kit and he can see if he likes it, as it will give that throat hit he is looking for.

Welcome Chris and Chris's son.

I'm sure people will disagree with me on this one, but I'm going to recommend the vivi nova V2 for him to put his juice into. For an older person, this must fit the bill, easy to fill, works straight off, you can see when you run out of juice. No fiddly bits to mess about with.

It doesn't really matter what battery he puts it onto, but something where he can change the voltage would really help him get the throat hit he needs.

I was thinking about a ego twist, but from what I hear the voltage selection is really small numbers and may be difficult for an older person to see.

A riva would let you find out if the concept works for him. And I know this is maybe going too fast, but a lavatube would be perfect I reckon, big batteries that last a long time, big solid mod.

However for a 1st timer this is a very big e-cig to pick up for the first time, most of us take a period of "breaking in" before we pick one up. By that time we appreciate it's worth the extra size for the all day vaping on one battery and the fact you can change the voltage to up the flavour/throat hit.

If you could get him somewhere to try a few things out, that would be great.

I think it's a great starter kit, a good step up from the cig-a-likes.

the Riva kit has been recomended so often on here and i've never came across anyone posting back that they didn't like it. for most it's the start of a love affair with vaping, lol
