That is a surprise... I need to do some more research . I had originally dismissed the Ego Twist as I thought is just had 3 different voltage settings rather than being fully variable, I guess that was an earlier version or I imagined it lol. I am looking around now for an Ego Twist kit to get an idea of price... but so far I can only find the batteries on their own. Is this generally the case? Are the Twist batteries only sold alone or does anyone know of someone selling kits?

There are kits from Europe but can't find any local..
They are about £20 for the 650 and about £23.00 for the 1000 mAh.

Thanks for the advice. I have ordered a 650mah Twist which should keep the temptation to keep spending money in search of satisfaction at bay for a month or 2. I have probably got enough juice either here or on the way to keep me going for the rest of the year So the plan is to try to only spend money on specific essentials... of course that rule may not apply to massive, too good to miss bargains.

My Ego Twist arrived today and so far the jury is still out on whether it is a step closer to getting me a satisfying vape The first thing I tried with it (after charging the battery) was to put the C4+ that I had been using on my Argento on it... with the voltage on the lowest setting... the first couple of hits were ok... but then I started getting the burning taste in my throat again. Very confusing, it's neither the clearo or the juice since they are fine on the Argento... I swapped it back over to the Argento to double check, no burning in my throat at all. This is confusing since the Argento is 3.7v (the battery was freshly charged) and the lowest setting on the Twist is 3.2v... so why does it burn on the lower voltage? ??? Obviously there is a part of the picture that I am missing here. Also in the post today came a Vivi Nova and a pack of Boge XXL 510 cartos, so I filled them up and left them for a while to make sure they had chance to wick. Next I tested the Twist again (still at the lowest setting) by dripping with my SR 306 atty. No burning this time, but the vapour is noticeably warmer than on the Argento and the flavour a little stronger. After a few puffs though I noticed that the ring around the button on the Twist is getting hot, a few more puffs and it feels uncomfortably hot... the threading above it even hotter. Still no burning in my throat though. But this leads to an obvious question... is this normal with a Twist or do I have a faulty unit? I didn't notice the heat build up when using the C4 since the skirt meant I was holding it a little lower and kind of reaching up for the button... but the skirt would also mean that all that heat is being kept beneath the C4 and not allowing it to cool down... potentially keeping the atty in the C4 hotter for longer and causing the burning? maybe? Next up I tried the Boge XXL carto. No burning... even after numerous long puffs. Good vapour. Flavour a little weak. Good job I used a drip tip on the carto though... it gets VERY hot! Finally the Vivi Nova with the 2.8 ohm atty. I realise this needs a little time to run in... so no comments about the flavour or vapour production. The interesting thing here is no heat build up around the button ring. So after my first day with the Twist, I am not really sure what I have learnt about my vaping requirements Testing will continue, I am not going to be beaten!

Silly question but are you twisting it in the right direction? With the battery connector closest to you an anti clockwise twist makes the voltage higher..The symptoms you are describing has all the hallmarks of the twist at 4.8 volts..
Also an argento with a hotspring and a freshly charged battery will be closer to 4 volts..
Edit Add: If you want to test the twist just put a meter across the battery connector at various settings and see if the voltages marry up with the markings..

Not a silly question... but yes, I am definitely twisting it in the right direction and actually looking at the setting . At 4.8 everything tastes burnt to me with the slightest draw (which I would expect). At around 4 with the vivi nova I start to feel the throat burn coming on after a few puffs. I am beginning to wonder if it's the temperature of the vapour when it hits my throat that is the issue

Yes looks like you are sensitive to a warm vapour..Top coil kits and dripping may not be for you..
Can you list the bits of kit you have?

Kit List KR808-D2 batteries x2 + prefilled cartos (GreenSmoke) KR808-D1 batteries x2 + cartos +PCC (JacVapor) Mini Argento + Hot Spring Ego Twist CE4+ clearo (SR) Vision Ego Rainbow clearo (LR) Vivi Nova 2 Innokin Tidy 510T clearos Bog XXL cartos Bauway 306 Atties LR + SR Joye 306 SR atty unbranded 510 atty 510 Drip on Demand kit 1 Olympic sized swimming pool of juice. I think that's about everything but I may have missed some I'm not completely ruling out the idea of PG allergy but the juice I had in the CE4 when I got throat burn on the Twist is a Virgin Vapours juice which is VG only.

Thanks..
Is your vaping experience much better on the Innokin Tidy when you put it on the Twist at the same voltage with the same juice?

Well... I have never had a good vaping experience with the Tidy. Apart from leaking like buggery the draw is painfully tight and I don't get much vapour or flavour from them at all, they really are lousy!
But, just for testing purposes I have put some of the same juice that I had in the CE4+ in one and tested it on the Twist.
The draw is much better on the Twist than the Argento... at 3.2v the first couple of puffs are good but then I start getting the first signs of throat burn (mildly) the ring around the button on the Twist gets hot very fast, after 4 puffs it is almost uncomfortably hot to touch so I stop. The whole of the Tidy unit is quite warm... the metal parts are hot but even the tube at the top is quite warm.
I move it over to the Argento and continue vaping and apart from the unpleasantly tight draw, it is ok... the vapour is cooler and not burning my throat and the Tidy does not get hot, just a little warm around the connector.

It shouldn't get that hot but to be honest I wouldn't notice..Do you use your forefinger to press the button? I use the thumb and the rest of my hand is nowhere near the button. Speak to the supplier if you feel it is getting too hot cause it might cause it to fail.
You may benefit from using a bottom coil clearo like the CE3-S which will give you a cooler vape..Maybe you are particularly sensitive to warm vape..Something to try if you want to..

Thanks. I have ordered some CE3-S, hopefully they will help. I am feeling pretty certain that vape temperature is the issue for me... so will keep looking for anything that can cool it down.
