Ego-Gen

As a fan of the ego form factor I found the poor man's line with a 510 connection a touch too long..So fashioned myself a ego type genesis mod and I am pleased with the results. Holds about 2ml of juice..

Protoype stage..Need to change electrodes to silver wire and seal it at the top end.



Vape on my modded SDK fitted with regulated 3.3 volt ego electronics..



With mouthpiece fashioned out of a ego type tube..

Just send me the ego-w you bought from vapourhut after it dies and pay for the silver wire, other small bits and bobs and postage..Probably work out to about a tenner, if that..

Would be interesting to compare the vape to see how good it really is in comparison with the original..

Did you do anything to prevent the terminals shorting out against
the top rim of the sleeve?

I'll have to break the seal and remove the coil and the ground electrode to do that now ..When I make the next one, I'll post a piccy,,

The posi is insulated with medical grade PTFE tubing throughout except where it is exposed at the top..The ground is through the sleeve.

There is a virgin PTFE bung at the top end which is like a top hat section and wider section seals the tube and the narrow section seals the mouth . I made this out of a PTFE rod using my drill as a lathe and a file and has four holes drilled in it..One for the coil, two for the electrodes and one is a air/filling hole..

You could also use food safe epoxy to seal the top but I am not very convinced about this coming in contact with the juice..

When I have has an atty fall apart on me there was what looked like hot glue set at the bottom. Is that what it was? If its ok to use that why not seal it with that?

I'm not sure how hot hot glue has to get before it stops being glue.

(I'm not sure I'd want to vape it either).

well that was my thought about it desolving into the juice

As for the temp, the hot glue guns go up to around 193 °C which as long as it is not in the direct contact of the element, it should not be an issue. I know that the use of hot glue has been used in the making of drinking vessles, but inhaling is a whole new ballgame.
