Hi, I'm new to vaping and quite enjoying it. I am new to this site to, so I hope everyone bares with me as I get the hang of it! What brought me here was "Diacetyl" I read that it is found in food flavorings, but the question is how do we know if the suppliers have it in their e liquid...Which suppliers are safe? hope you can help to ease my mind as I'm so loving vaping!

After reading this article it has got me worried in vaping. Does anyone know anything about this in flavorings being used. I've given up smoking tobacco and started vaping to get my health back, but now I'm very confused! www.hazards.org/diacetyl/index.htm

#welcome2# from me too I can't really amswer your question but it has been discussed on here before. I'm sure none of our recommended suppliers would be using it as it is quite well known to be bad for lungs. Hopefull someone with more knowledge than me will be along shortly and be able to help more

I haven't read all of the article, it's very long and 4 years old.... I don't think anyone claims that Vaping is safe, people with asthma, COPD etc are advised not to Vape, but vaping is safER than smoking cigarettes. I'm not trying to downplay your fears in anyway, but I spent years drinking heavily, smoking heavily, eating junk food, 16 hours a day in front of a computer screen, zero exercise and didn't think twice about the health consequences at the time, lots of people live this way. Ok I live a healthy life now, but after years of abusing my body in the way I did, I'm not too worried about vaping

Dream, as Karma says, I'm fairly certain that the good suppliers don't use flavourings with Diacetyl in them. Especially those that mix their own or have someone they know, mix for them.

Most good suppliers will specifically mention that there is no diacetyl in their e-juice.
That's how you will know, unless you can analyse the juice yourself in a chem lab..Buttery flavours are likely to contain diaacetyl, but not always..
So if you want to be sure, get a clearo and buy e-liquids only from sources which specifically mention that there is no diacetyl in their liquids.
Edit: Why don't you shoot an email to skycig and ask them?

Hi Dream, I can confirm that most reputable suppliers do not use Diacetyl in their juices. If you are concerned then just contact the supplier you are considering using and ask; if they are any good they will supply you with this information. If they do not try another, there are plenty of suppliers around now, not like when I first started over 2 years ago. I also believe Diacetyl is used on buttery flavours like popcorn or peanut butter flavours. Hope this helps.
