Ok so I'm sure someone posted a thread about this but my attempts to find it have been futile (mods feel free to merge)
Anyway since I read this thread that I can't find , the whole world seems to have gone mad for this book, which from what I've read is the worst kind of torrid, badly written and Mills and Boonish but everyone is loving it!Not seen anything like this since Bridget Jones Diary and Harry Potter. Quite tempted to download it to my kindle but still have misgivings what is it about this trilogy is anyone man or woman enough to say?

I've been meaning to read it, mostly just because of the hype and I think it's only a couple of quid on kindle. The rave about it apparently is that it's "mummy porn" housewives and women over 30 love it so I'm told. Have also heard though that from a literary point of view it is very badly written, mills and boon as you say. I think it's the subject that appeals more than anything else.
Have you read the Girl with the...books? Much MUCH better than both sets of movies

Oh yeah me and my Dad both loved them , hence why I bought him ticket to the film for Christmas , it was only boxing day morning I suddenly thought , how comfortable am I going to see a film that's pivotal scenes will surely be a rape and the victims violent revenge with my Dad ? Oh well too late I bought the ticket , I kinda of forgot my Dad was there as soon as Daniel Craig appeared though LOL!

Such a shame Larsson died would have been nice if he'd enjoyed his success a little ....

I think its all the "sex" in it thats got some people buzzing and twitter...........personally speaking the sex parts of the book read so bad that its laughable......... but if we all liked the same thing it would be a boring world........ its just not my thing

Read a few bits of it now and it's not big, not clever and not representative of the bdsm community > So I'm told In fact, on womens behalf, I'm a bit pissed off about it.

Kirsty...I'm halfway through the 2nd book and i have to confess i love it!!!!! It's not the 'smutty' bits that i love, i have to agree they could definitely have been written better, it's the basic storyline that i love, probably every woman has at one time in their lives, loved a man (or thought they loved him) who they felt deep down inside that they were going to lose, either because they felt he wasn't the type to live 'happy ever after' or if they felt they weren't good looking enough, or sexy enough to keep him interested... It's about never having had a relationship before because you just simply had never met a man who made your heart beat faster just looking at him, or hearing his voice.... It took me till maybe a third of the way through the 1st book to really get hooked, but now i'm hook, line & sinker I just know i'm going to miss Ana & Christian soooo much when i've finished the trilogy why not give it a try? all those women can't all be wrong, lol
