Curious to know *update*

I woke up this morning and my throat felt very sore and when I place my tongue at the back of my throat to feel, it feels bumpy (hmmm can't think of a better way to describe it).

I've been getting paranoid (as some of you may be aware, by my previous posts) of having this metallic taste in my mouth and food tasting different and having no taste (sometimes) while vaping.

OK, I/we put it down to stopping smoking, but I was still worried,
so last night, while I had time to spare I googled it and ended up on another forum like this one, but USA.
Someone on there was allergic to pg in e juice..haha did I get worried!!!! I don't want to be ALLERGIC, cos I'm loving vaping so much!!!!!

So, my question is, has anyone been allergic to PG or VG and if so how did you deal with it?

I'm not saying I am, but you never know!
I dunno maybe the symptoms I'm having is normal for a newbie, but I thought what the heck, no harm in asking

*Update* I'm finding that since yesterday when I vape on VG my throat is fine, but when I vape on PG I start getting a tickly feeling on the back of my throat.

Either your system doesn't like the high PG liquids -> Try 50/50 PG/VG, 30/70 PG/VG or 100VG liquids to see what effects they have..

Also one thing that might have upset your system.. Too much vaping and too high nicotine mg level.
... And did you dring water/lemonade to keep your body hydrated during the day?

E: I started with 24mg liquids and I had similar effects after days that I vaped too much.. Around 2months vaping I dropped my nic level to 10-15mg and since then I haven't had any issues. Also I do drink a lot of water during the day

You can get pure VG juice. Probably handy to have around if you are prone to sore throats as Vegetable Glycerin is the same stuff that's in sore throat medicines!

I think what your describing is probably transient and just because your body is getting used to not smoking and you sound like you are vaping a fair bit

Karma your so right! lol I haven't stopped vaping since I started, I will try and cut down a bit and maybe that will help.

ok, so I mixed myself a little potion (e juice) right now, hopefully that will ease my throat. hopefully I will get there in the end

What strength are you vaping?

If you feel that you're vaping too much but don't want to vape less, cut the strength of nicotine down

I have some bottles of 20mg that I use if I know I can't vape much during the day but I never vape over 15mg in the evening when chain vaping

I started off with 12mg, the cartridges supplied by skycig with the starter kit, then I purchased e liquid at 24mg found it was to high for me, made me feel light headed and giddy, I reduced it to 8-10mg, but yesterday I made 2ml of e liquid with 0mg to see how I felt, it seemed I was fine without the nicotine, but I just love the vaping trying different flavors of e liquid! and have been vaping constantly:) I guess it's all the excitement of being a new vapor. I have started drinking water after reading the reply's above and I feel slightly better

when you stop smoking your body goes through a detox that often throws up some symptoms ....take the vaping easy and drink water to help clean out the nasties in your body and you will soon feel better

Just curious about the metallic taste. I have a question for you, when you brush your teeth, do your gums bleed now? For me after a short time vaping, I started to get bleeding gums. This was not to do with vaping though, but to do with giving up smoking. The bleeding was because now the blood in my gums had started to flow better & get to where it should of been. The metallic taste could be blood from your gums as they try to repair themselves.

On the same thing, my throat felt thicker, like it was inflamed. Apparently this is again to do with the blood flow. It will go down in time according to my Dr. It's just like swelling on a cut.

Could it be this your feeling and tasting?

Hmmmmm I'm going to go and brush my teeth and see, cos I haven't been taking note of any bleeding. (to be honest I've been on the net for the past week till early hours of the morning looking up e liquids, e cigs etc so I brush my teeth half sleeping lol

No unfortunatley no sign of blood, but as you reminded me of the taste when gums do blead the taste I'm having is similar to that. My gum's hey, I think they have had it after smoking for so many years.

Regarding the feeling, yes I have the feeling of phlem in my throat. Other than that nothing else at the momment.

It might be that things are just all over the place for you at the moment, with your taste changing & coming back, blood getting to places its not been in a long time, sense of smell getting stronger, things repairing like your lungs & throat.

Though it is possible that you have an allergy to PG the chances are that its just everything else

Does your doctor kno you have taken up vaping, if yes what did he say? Do you feel much better in yourself since you stopped smoking (silly question I know, but it's nice to hear it from someone who is way ahead of you, regarding giving up smoking and taking up vaping)
