Guys I have been having a look at getting a lavatube, as my next mod, and Im a bit confused as there seems to be a V1, V1.5, V2 and now a V2.1
Are they all pretty much the same thing with some added bells and whistles?
I was curious as there is a massive difference in price for them. ???

Yes to V 1 (I have one ) and V1.5 : The V2.1 (which also I have) has a higher possible output current so you are able to ramp dual coil carto's up higher. It also has a visual battery meter and shows you the resistance of the cartomiser/atty connected.

V1 lavatube showing the output voltage V2.1 showing the coil resistence and the battery meter on the right of the display.

Des you didn't mention the V2 which as I understand it is the same electrics as the V1 but with an ego connector rather than a straight 510

V2.1 showing the coil resistence and the battery meter on the right of the display. Des is it just the way the pic is taken or is the display a little tilted inside?

The one's being sold by vapourhut (2.1 or 1.5 in the US) have PWM and will make a noticeable positive difference in performance at higher wattages.
The other versions all have similar circuitry and all of them suffer from not being able to hold the voltage under load from partially dicharged batteries.

The only thing I'm not too sure of is the boost circuitry in the 2.1 I think it's hard on the batteries, I have a mini and the 18350's I have are not lasting long, but I only had a couple of crappy batteries to try it with. I have just ordered 4 from TECC which I am hoping are better.

That's mainly because it's actually outputting the proper Vpk..
The older versions gave you longer battery life because the circuitry wasn't upto the task and gave you lower voltages regardless of what you set it at..
TECC batts are not the best for the LT anyway cause they are protected so I wouldn't expect much battery life from them, though they may be more properly rated.

I am getting considerably shorter vape times out of a 18350 at 3.7v 2.5 ohm load. When compared to a Argento (no circuitry of course) But I have had crappy Trustfire's from HC rated supposedly 1200 mAh, I am hoping the 700mAh one's I have just ordered from TECC are better One of the HC's crapped out on me at the weekend, shows a fault when I put in the charger, so has gone in the bin!
